Flaarg
So i've seen the Thompson submachine gun mods, all are gangster/ drum variant of the weapon, it seems no one wants to acknowledge the wartime variant, I understand the vegas/mobster theme, but i'm a lover of military weapons, so why can't anyone make a military style Thompson submachine gun. Weapon: Thompson US M1928A1Ammo: .45 ACP or .44 Mag (instead of making new ammo)Capacity: 30 rounds Box MagDmg: 38DPS:?Spread: 3-3.5Crit: x1Crit Dmg: 28Weight: 11.5AP cost: 20 In game weapon modsExtended Box Mag: 40 round clipHeavy Vented Barrel: Lowers spreadMachined Reciver: Increased DMG, Lowers spread Just an idea for a modder to concider for those of us that want more WW2/Korea military style weapons If you want to develop please do, if you have an idea/suggestion please leave it.......and once more i have looked though the thompson submachine gun mods on the nexus, so please don't suggest one of the mods posted, they are not what i'm asking for. WastelandAssassin
well, at least to some extent, this was already done this and this are just two versions i found, and there may be more, possibly as part of weapon packs look around a bit, make a search or two, and see if you can find the one that fits your taste the most
yoshie55
He is not looking for the mafia type but the WW2 type that has a "normal" mag.
WastelandAssassin
well, i am only able to recommend what i know of quite frankly, i don't think i have ever seen a mod that adds the military style Thompson, exactly how it was however, you could probably mess around with the model of one of the mods i gave you, replace the magazine with a block type magazineor, someone could do that and release it (though that would require either permission from the creators of the base, or creating it all from scratch) now, i can't do this myself, nor can i tell you of someone that will do this for sureyour best chance for this to be done?? do it yourselflearn how, and do it yourself if not that, i wish you'll either live with what you have, or find someone to do it for you
yoshie55
There is a mod for Fallout 3 by davidriggs(i think that's his name)That add a couple of WW2 weapons including the Tommy your looking for.Do you have any knowledge of the g.e.c.k?You only need very basic knowledge to port things over to NV. You will need FOMM,the NV g.e.c.k and the WW2 weapon mod.Open the g.e.c.k and load the NV main file. When it has loaded save and name the blank esp as WW2 Tommy or whatever you want it to be called.Open FOMM and go to TESsnip located in Tools.Open the WW2 Weapons mod then the esp you just created and copy everything exept for Cells to the blank esp.Open the g.e.c.k and find the Tommy then place it wherever you want. Servalion
As much as I can understand this (FO3 has the opposite issue, more Thompson M1A1 entries than older versions), in a sense, the WW2 ones were inferior to me. I mean, the Tommygun was an excellent piece, but it had to get cheapened and stripped down for mass production intended for army use. Many of the standard extras people associated the gun (drum magazine, Cutts compensator) were left behind to cut costs and reduce weight. Its only a matter of time before someone releases a Thompson that uses the stick magazines, with perhaps a mod option to upgrade to the drum magazine. Personally, I'd like one that starts with the Drum Magazine and upgrades further to the 100 Drum Magazine (though exceptionally rare today and prone to jamming, they did exist). Corejob
While the M1 and M1A1 Thompsons are seen by some as 'cheap' versions, they were simpler and more reliable than the 1921 and 1928 models. The best thing that ever happened to the Thompson was getting rid of the Blish lock
Corejob
BTW, I did a 45 replacer pack for FNV that replaces all the 12.7mm weapons with 1911s and M1A1 Thompsons. http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=40236 A few notes: All thompsons had machined receivers. Stick magazines were either 20 or 30 rounds. a 40 rounder would be very long. The radially finnned barrel disappeared in the later production guns. That being said, I'd be happy to whip up a custom Thompson to you specs. Just send me a PM with what you want.
