ED-E Retextures not working at all!

No matter what retexture of my ED-E companion I install, not one of them is working.

Say for example http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38950 . Simple, right? Install texture into data/textures, use invalidation, ???, profit.

But it ain't working at all! I'm using the latest FOMM.

What's the matter?!

If FOMM's invalidation is active, and you installed the texture files correctly. The only reasons I can think of as to why it wouldn't be working is that you have a mod active in the list which is changing his texture from the default one (bug fix? I doubt it though) or has overwritten the textures you added with their own, maybe detailed normals. Try deactivating all except the official ones then activate one of ED's textures, if that works, then it's one of the mods, so activate them all again, activating ED's last, overwriting when prompted.

The most likely problem though is that you've installed the textures into the wrong place. Did you copy the folder structure of the mod? or just the texture files?

Yes, I copied it correctly. It's not my first time. Been installing mods since Morrowind came out.

Detailed Normals, as in "Detailed Normals - Texture Pack" ? http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38196 because I have it active. I don't have any ED-E mods installed via FOMM.

I just try to use the one I linked, because I like it. It's simply done by copying said textures to data/textures

The point I was trying to make it that the detailed normals texture pack probably has its own texture set for ED, which is getting installed over the specific ED texture pack. Try using FOMM to install the specific texture pack, but install it after installing detailed normals. If I'm right, it should pop up with an "Folder already contains... *.dds" type message, which you should select yes to.

If that isn't the case, I'm stumped, that's the only reason for any texture problems I've ever had. (Ignoring Invalidation not being active).
