oc3
Hello, I am working on a new mod that modifies the streetlights in Imperial city. What I have done is make the opaque glass looking portions of the lamps transparent, so that now you can see the flame inside and can also see completely through. I had to create a stencil node In Nifskope to texture the inside of the lamp body. After a few struggles everything is working pretty good except the inside of the lamp body itself does not illuminate even though it is very close to the flame light source. It looks rather unnatural that way. I notice that in the CS if I move the flame a litle OUTSIDE of the lamp so that the light shines on the outer surface, the inside surface actually lights up then.o_O Are there any special stencil settings in Nifskope that would change this, I am just using the default settings with 'both sides' selected. I don't know much about any of the other nodes and settings except for alpha, but there must be something that will fix it. If there are any Nifskope experts out there, I could use your help. Thanks! oc3
After some research, I think that when Nifskope adds a backside texture, it is not lit except that it only duplicates the lighting on the front side. In a dark environment there will be no lighting on either side, in a bright one both sides will be lit. Apparently I need a work around of some sort. Is there any way to duplicate a mesh and flip it to where the texture is on the inside instead of the outside? If so I could duplicate the lamp body, put the texture on the inside and then place that mesh inside of the original. Then both surfaces should be lit. If anyone knows how to do this, I can use the help, Thanks.
