modmanager error

ugh Im such a noob I never had the modmanager before the patch 8 , but altho I have it merging it says this error for almost everything i try to install!

as im s till a noob with pc mechanics Im not sure what it is I tried uninstalling after each mod that wouldnt merge but i get the same error.....

i have no key what zlib is as i just used winzip to unzip into the DAI MODS folder connected to the modmanger .53.

Is winzip not a good program for unzipping?

You have a very extensive list of mods. While there is nothing wrong with having a lot of mods (I have quite a few myself) you also have a lot of mods that conflict with each other, which is, at least partially, why you're getting errors. I may not have caught everything in your list, but after going over it briefly, these are the mods I found that are incompatible:

 

 

1.) Remove one of your Dalish Mohawk Hair mods from your mod folder. You cannot use both versions at the same time.

2.) Remove 1 of the SK_EM_sideswept hair mods from your mod folder. You can only use 1 length at a time since they both use the same hair base.

3.)Choose only one of the eyebrow packs. Male, Female, Light, Dark all replace the same eyebrows regardless of what gender you're going to play in game. Choose the one you like best and remove the rest from your mods folder.

4.)The Katherine, Calpernia, and Mira Skin textures all replace the same female complexion base. That means you can only use 1 at a time. Remove the over 2 you don't want to use from your mod folder.

5.)Lush Lashes and Improved lashes cannot be used at the same time. Choose only 1 of these and remove the other one from your mod folder.

6.)Use only 1 of the MRM_Dorian files (Unless one of them is a fix and you were instructed on the mod page to use both)

7.)Use only 1 version of the revised Qunari Mohawk. Remove the other from your mod folder.

 

 

Once you've removed all of the mods that are incompatible with each other, try merging again. If it is still giving you errors, then there may be a problem with how mod manager was installed. Please check below and make sure you followed these steps when installing:

 

 

1.) DL Mod Manager and extract the file into a folder called "Mod Manager" (or any name of your choice, really)

2.) Create another new folder called "Mods" (Do not place mods directly in your mod manager folder)

3.) Place the mods (.dai or the extracted zip mod folders) you plan on using into your created mod folder

4.) When opening mod manager, it will ask you to locate your game executable. Locate the directory where your game file (not the shortcut) is being kept.

5.)Once that is done. Hit the browse button above that and locate your mod folder directory.

6.)Hit merge on the mod file.

7.) If everything installed properly, then you should see a folder called "Patch_ModManagerMerged" in the Updates Folder of your game directory. Inside of that folder you should see a package.mft file and a data folder.

 

 

Please also check that you have only one patch file showing up in your mod manager and that the patch file that you see says "version 9".

thank you so much , I just installed directly from the dl folder I didnt realize I couldnt use more than one hair type , nor that they would all install! duh ikr?? THANK YOU SO MUCH ! i have no patch listed in the patch folder. I checked that from the folder... I do have the patch mod merged folder but it is empty. goign to follow all your advice and pray the maker helps me folow your directions correctly. :)

If you need more help with setup, GrimmPrince has a tutorial for setting up mod manager on Youtube. I highly recommend watching it if it's your first time installing the mod manager as he talks you through each step of the installation process. It's a little outdated, but he has popups in the video where things have changed.

Just to clarify:

 

 

If you're going into the "Updates" folder and looking at the Patch folder inside of it, you won't see a patch, you'll see a package.mft and a data folder.

 

The lack of anything in your Patch_ModManagerMerged is because you have yet to successfully merge anything into the game.

 

You should only see one patch in your Mod Manager. If you see more than one, something is wrong. If you don't see any when you open up mod manager, then something wasn't set up right.

 

 

 

As I mentioned above, if you're struggling with getting mod manager to work, I highly recommend watching GrimmPrince's tutorial on youtube.

sigh thanks to silverstarre I now have no conflicts my mods are merging but at very end i get this message ..... does this mean i need to reinstall everything { game , modmanager >?} one again ty so much. Apologies in advance for being so idiotic!

First, are you using Mod Manager v 0.53? In order for mods to work with patch 8, you need that version of mod manager. Check this first before reading on. :)

 

 

Otherwise, it's one of three things, and I tried to list things from easiest to hardest:

 

1.)There is still a conflicting mod I didn't see in the list above that needs to be removed.

2.)Mod Manager's Dragon Age directory isn't set up correctly to go to where your game file is located

3.)You need to do a repair of the game (use GrimmPrince's tutorial for how to do this)

I uninstalled and reinstalled everything last night. just finished up as a matter of fact so I tried the modmanager with just one item and here is result.
