Niyogi
Hi there. I'm not a very experienced modder, but I think I'm getting the hang of it. I seem to have a mod addiction and have been picking up a lot of mods. I thought to combine several mods doing similar things to avoid hitting the max mod limit and to help prevent conflicts by cafefully merging mods covering similar aspects in game. For instance merging standalone eye mods, hair mods, and texture mods. What I'm wondering is how to go about doing that. I've seen a few different topics on merging mods, but am not sure what the best method is. What I was considering doing was using NMM on a vanilla skyrim folder. Installing all the mods as I want them (all those lovely FOMOD installers these days) and then taking the data from the data folder and putting it into a zip file then using TES5Edit with the xEdit merging script to merge the esp/esm's. Would that work? Thanks in advance for any advice. :)

Merging mods is good for stuff like all your follower mods, all your weapons mods, all your armor mods. If you want to post a list I can recommend some merges
Niyogi
Well, I merged an eyes file to see how it'd go and seems to be fine. Merged: - Hale - Iridum Eyes- LiEyes- MAT_CEyesReboot- Mikan Eyes- Precious stle eyes- The Eyes of Beauty (player, dawnguard, and npc) Next, I'll try merging: ApachiiHairNPC USKP Compatible and All DLC Compatible (Patches and hotfix)ApachiiSkyHair (Full, Female, and Male)ApachiiSkyHair Natural Retexture ( + update)KSHairFinalSG Hair Pack 268 I'll let you know how that goes. Niyogi
I said I'd let you know how it went. Finally got around to finishing it and testing it this morning and seems to be working well. I guess I should have held off on making this post until after I had tried my method. I'm still not quite sure how to go about merging FOMOD installs. My method at present is to make a new folder and copy the textures, meshes, etc that aren't esp/esm/bsa files from the mod zips to the new folder then install the mods via NMM, use TES5Edit and the xEdit merge script on the mods I chose to merge. Then take any unpacked bsa's and the merged esp/esm and place in the new folder I created and then zip it up and install the zip via NMM (uninstalling the mods I merged beforehand). vram1974
The hair and face and brows mods WILL merge of course. That's not the problem. The problem is if you download an esp that requires one of the files as a master you can't use it, or you have to manually reset the master dependencies. Also, if you use Racemenu presets it won't be able to find your hairs in the merged esp file. If you find a way to do it successfully I'd be curious because the hair mods take up a ton of room in my load order.
