Nortath
Is there a way to take a character file from later in the game, and move into the past lets say, with all the stats and eqipment? Or would I have to use the toolset or other mod? Basically, I want to play a while and make game decisions, then take all I have gained, and go back to make different choices. I located where the files are (I beleive). And tried a few copy and pastes to no avaial. Also, if there is a way, please also state file name and suffix ( MXL, PNG, etc.), and what moves where. PC, WIn7 64 Thanks Edited February 28, 2011 by Nortath
DarkeWolf
Heyas Nortath! Welcome to the DA forums! :)I hate to say that there is no mod that would allow you to do this. You would need to edit an earlier savegame in the toolset. Now, unfortunately... the toolset will not open savegames from later on in the game. Once a savegame gets to be about ~ 1 megabyte in size, the toolset will no longer open it. And crashes to a generic "Not enough memory" error. :verymad:So this is going to only leave you with the option of editing some of your saves from about the first 1/4 th of the game. The savegame files are located in documents/bioware/dragon age/characters and the files to edit are "savegamename".das NOT .das.met Character stats and gear are located there, but unless its gear that the character is WEARING, if it's in the characters backpack, it only shows up as a number value, not a filename. I'd also recommend making some copies of your savegame files, and play around with those in the toolset first. To get a feel for how those files look, work, and what you can do with them, and to get a feel for the toolset. That way you're not borking up anything that you MIGHT want to use again later. While you get a feel for working with them.
