vaal1
Hi there! well I think my question is specific enough but anyway I 'll try to give you a better idea of what I wanna do. I'm sure you all remember that quest on Knights of the Nine SPOILER: when you had to kill that Umaril "spirit" or whatever. You casted the "Blessing of Talos" spell and -paff!- just like that you were sent to a worldspace in the sky! Well practically that's the result I'm looking for, an empty flat worldspace or cell or something with now land texture - invisible if you like (this is kind of the most crucial part) where you can walk on (If possible not be able to fall) and have a nice view of Tamriel between your legs :P I would appreciate if someone could help me do it or can hack into the Knight of the Nine esp or has any other possible solution! Vagrant0
I'd have to know what it looks like to tell you anything definate. But I don't think you're actually above the actual world. Most likely, it's a group of cells with the LOD landscape, or something less complicated moving beneath you. Kinda like when you jump over the walls of Chorrol, if you run far enough out, the world drops away, and you're just standing above the LOD landscape. I'm not sure how this could be accomplished in a new cell, but I would assume that this is the easiest way of doing it. Alternativly, you'd need to create a very large mesh to act as the land, (or several million collision boxes) then add collision to all the faces of that ginormous mesh. However, while it would accomplish the task, this becomes a serious problem when it comes to trying to get pathing and other things to stay on that piece of land without falling through. Personally, looking at the effort (or the lack of) that has gone into previous offisial plugins, I would wager that it's the first case, and they were just using a feature of a child worldspace in order to create a "special" effect. Stampede
I edited your post vaal1. No, we don't all remember that part in Knights of the Nine because not all of us have played it yet. Please don't post spoilers without warning or hiding them first. Thanks.
vaal1
1st Stampede I'm sorry about that. You are right and apologies if I ruined your game thanks for the warning and I will be more careful the next time 2ndEVEN MORE SPOILING ON THE WAY!!!!!!!! Vagrant0 or anyone else anyway I checked it by loading a game (and a bit of cheating as well...) and on that quest it is actually a cell over Tamriel. Actually after you kill that guy you fall back to Tamriel but apart from that if you deactivate collisions (tcl) you can actually "walk" all the way and get back to the IC.you told me you wanted to see it. Well the only think I was able to do is take some screenshots and give you a saved game because Bethesda did a pretty good job on locking down all the official mods. (at least I thought I did. I'm not sure if you can get them from here since I uploaded them but cant seem to get it working so if you give me your mail I can mail them to you.) Stampede
What a nice and well written apology :) Aah, if only more members could be so thoughtful...but then I would be out of a job. Meh, all moderators get their games ruined eventually. We have to check all the threads after all, it was more for the sake of the other users. Anyway, good luck with your mod! Vagrant0
Ok Vagrant0 here are the screenshots and the save. Sorry for the delay! Save:Saved Game Screenshots:photo 1Photo 2Photo 3 Save game doesn't help me, I don't have the mod, so wouldn't be able to use it. The screenshots don't tell me a while lot since even if you had a mod that changed alot of the terrain around the IC, it still wouldn't show since those look like the LOD. I think the easier solution would be for you to do "tcl" in a game where you havn't gotten that far, and fly above the IC to see if there is anything there. On the plus side, this doesn't look like some worldspace trick. This means that if there were packed meshes included with the mod, you might be able to tell if they used a mesh. I'm still betting on a worldspace trick using a more detailed LOD though, it just seems cheaper and more resource efficient. Are you sure that you don't do some sort of transition when you start falling or do you just kinda have to hope to hit the water or atleast somewhere normally accessable? vaal1
Well I did my in-game research and:First to answer your question the place in the sky is always there and the guy you must kill as well waiting for you (I went there with tcl as you said). Once you get the quest and then kill him you just fall and you are guided by a collision barrier you ll see on the new screenshots in order to fall on an exterior cell of Tamriel (e.g. outside the walls of the IC and not behind them) but nothing in between you just fall. Only when the quest SENDS you there the loading screen appears and you are just "magically teleported there". Apart from that I ve come to the conclusion that the only thing Bethesda did is to create a collision barrier for you to stand on. I 'm not quite sure if its possible and how (and if you can place objects on it without crashing of course) but that seems to me like the best explanation. So if you could help me out with that I think we will be done.Otherwise if I'm completely wrong (which is not unlikely) tell me your opinion on it. All the screenshots were taken before starting the actual quest that sends you there: The "world" seen from aboveThe world(not visible) and the falling barrierA general overviewA sideview

vaal1
Yeah it is TCG thanks Abramul! :) It did make it visible, still I cant figure out if it is a collision barrier or a cell or a wordspace...or how to built one myself Here are some screenshots if you can make something more out of it Photo1Photo2
