Corrupt files??

I'm sorry if I happen to be wasting any of your time. I have a few problems when I download files here (specifically for oblivion). Ok, the downloader works fine...the .zip file or .rar or .7z file downloads into the folder I've set for it to. But when I unzip or unpack (whatever you may call it) the file, it says that the files are corrupt. And I've tested this with WinRAR, WinZip and ZipGenius6, so it's not that one particular unzipper just sucks. Ok, and my other problem...I can sometimes unzip the file fine like nothing is wrong, but the .ESP file(s) has 0 KB. And if I try to run it in the Oblivion/Data folder and play the game anyways, it doesn't recognize it as a Player file, but instead as an Invalid file. Obviously there is no information after it's unzipped, so what is my computer downloading...corrupt 0-byte files? Lol. Some files to be specific ---> Complete Mages Pack, Snow Dragon Temple V1.1, Wolven, and The Legacy are just examples. And from the descriptions and pics of all the files I can't download, they seem to be really badazz mods. But they all come out corrupt or something to that effect. =( Now don't get me wrong, I have been able to download several with no problems. But it seems like the ones I really want do this mess to me. If there is anyone who may know my problem and care enough to E-mail me a response to: [email protected] it would much more appreciated than you think.

Thanx a bunch,

Tenchi =-)

Lol, I would also like to explore the world of modding for myself. So, if anyone knows where I can download a Construction Set that will actually install...I would like to know also. =)

To be honest, it's always easier to just respond in the thread itself.

A corrupted archive normally means it was an incomplete download. Even if the download failed at 99% the zip file will still be busted. Best to re-download.

Ah, you are right, let me rephrase my answer.

Say you are downloading a file and its 2mb big. Your downloader will time out at say 1.98mb however, it will still tell you the file is 100% complete.

Compare the size of the downloaded file to the actual size listed on the website.

I hope this helps.
