JAD2010
Hi I'm trying to change the zoom of two sniper rifles from nexus. One is the SVD and the other one is the Barret M82. A friend of mine told me that the zoom of the SVD was a bit too small for a sniper rifle like that and I have to say that he is right. Now I'm trying to find the way in the GECK that let me change it but I'm not able to find it. I want to double the zoom or even more. Can somebody help me? Thanks Edited March 4, 2011 by JAD2010
Skevitj
The zoom effect is achieved by changing the Field of View the screen displays, ie, narrower FOV values will result in the screen stretching -> Zoom in. Larger FOV values will result in zooming out. The amount of zoom for weapons sights and scopes is controlled via the "Sight FOV" value in the "Gama Data" tab of the weapon's properties. A bit of searching and you should be able to find a formula for accurate magnification -> FOV conversions, but your best bet will just be to play with it, since most realistic sniper scopes will probably leave you able to zoom in to the point of being able to pick up individual pixels on a target nearing max draw distance. If you want decent FOV values to start testing around, I've found the values used in BOE:NV to be pretty decent: 8 for max zoom, 20, 32, 45 for lowest power.(Of course, if you want you could just play with one of their zoom selector scripts and apply it to your weapon of choice, or just use the mod)
JAD2010
It works but the values are the opposite. If you want more zoom you need to set a higher level than 45. If you set a lower value the zoom decreases, at least with the SVD. Thank you very much for your advice EDIT: Sorry, your advice is correct. I don't understand what was going on anyways. I have set a value of 30 and the zoom has increased a lot. Thanks again Edited March 4, 2011 by JAD2010
