Gehenna, no backpack.

Well, it's actually quite simple, and pretty much just what I just said. Don't overthink it or anything.

Essentially, what I did was:

A) Delete the backpack, and that "weapon" node that looked like a white box in the .nif with NifSkope. No fancy importing into Blender or anything. I strongly suspect that the latter is actually a marker for the oven glove.

I also strongly suspect that's what you had done too. No idea, I didn't actually download your version, but I'm taking a guess by what I've read in this thread.

B) Open the weapon in the GECK and went to the art and sound tab. There you have the weapon .nif, the 1st person record, and under it, a dropdown with the armour (or rather accessory) list you get forced upon you when using the weapon. For example for the Shishkebab it's an oven glove on your right hand. Just open that drop-down, press SPACE so the selection goes to NONE, and close it. Save, and done.

Strangely, the .bsa contains a separate glove nif for the Gehenna, but it seems to be set to use the Shishkebab one. Dunno if there's a difference between the two, but it seems like a waste either way to include a mesh and not actually use it. But maybe that's just my OCPD kicking in ;)

Could be an early prototype/legacy content. In the characters folder is some early nifs of vault suits, power armor, naked (underwear) male and female models etc that contain a head and hands as part of the nif, as opposed to our normal upperbody nifs. I don't believe they are used for anything, but on the other hand they wold make some good statues (simulacrums etc) and the like. Kind of interesting to see some of the early development.
