Sunset Sarsaparilla's Wild Wild West World.

Another idea based partly on westworld (never saw it, but liked the premises) and partly on the shows we have here at the local toruist attractions (as well as an extension of the YMCA idea), would involve a amusement park created by Sunset Sarsaparilla. Sunset Sarsaparilla's Wild Wild West World would feature protectrons retextured much like the nuka-cola ones to Sunset Sarsaparilla colors and be wearing hats & boots like Primm Slim. There would be robo vendor merchants selling items unavailable in most parts of the wasteland, cotton candy, 100 year old caramel apples, teddy bears etc. There would be games of chance (darts, coin tosses) etc that could earn flashy trinkets that tribals or other wastelands might pay good caps for. The roller coaster from bison steves would be there. For the more advanced, mod savy crowd, instructions on how to use the point lookout carnival resources could be included. They add their own bsa.

There would be androids (human appearing) performing live west shows like shootouts and other theatrics as well as stunts like cowboy shooting etc. This could make for some powerful opponents (androids with the cowboy perk and brushguns could pump out some damage).

Unfortunately the bad news is during the war some bits were flipped by emp bursts and the parks mainframs main logic programs went a little funny. The mainframe also has an organic component (a brain) similar to the robobrains and it is now very old. As time has gone on it's behavior has gotten worse and worse, more erratic and confused. To complicate matters the owner of the park was a huge gun buff and collected tons of western area antique weapons, ammo etc. Being particularly fearful of a Chinese invasion he also set up the park to be self sustaining (it has it's own reactor) and purchased security protocols for all the bots to defend the park. Giving the main frame access to a great deal of resources.

The locals (probably tribals) stay well away from the park, since the android cowboy trick shooters can place a slug in their head at ridiculous ranges. Unfortunately for the player they don't have the option to avoid the park (not sure if it's a rescue mission or some other plot hook).

Treasure could include some high powered weapons like brush guns, heavy revolvers (esp if the reload mod is used), special limited edition Sunset Sarsaparilla's collectibles, etc.

The mod itself although combat heavy wouldn't be a simple run and gun mod. Due to the main frame's dementia it would have some of the fallout humor and general weirdness. There would be many small encouters with scripted events and a branching storyline (perhaps you'd rather help repair the mainframe then destroy it.

Any thoughts, suggestions, help?

i am quite busy with creating a hunting mod and probably will be for another month. with that said i will not be able to help with worldbuilding or scripting at least not until my mod is finished.

i have noticed modding takes a lot longer than you think it would. i like your idea and i am willing to help with storyline plot/discussion and what advice i can bring in questmaking and dialogue.

i am no expert in scripting, learning the hard way but i may be able to help with a few things.

how much do you know about scriping, questmaking, retexturing and working with dialogue?

re: scripting I'm just starting. re: retexturing I'v done a retextured ranger brush gun, retextured a few brahmin, a wolf, a deathclaw duster and the sunset protectron (although I'm thinking of changing the color scheme to red & orange like the headquarters sign in the pic above instead of red & yellow like the png I got off the net). I am currently working on a ranger themed Anti-Material Rifle and Combat Knife. re: quests haven't done a proper one yet. re: dialog that's come pretty easy so far.

Sound you can do most of the retexturing on your own. You could try to recruit someone experience in worlbuilding design and lightsetting since it could be time consuming if you are not used to it. Regarding scripting I am quite new myself but I have picked up a few things since I started my mod so I will answer if I can. What I found helpfull when creating my mod is to write down all quests and quest stages to add dialogue topics and plan the whole quest on paper before you start. Try to plan every queststage and how and when to incorporate scripts which saves a lot of work when you get started.
