Moraelin
Basically you set the first checkbox when you double-click the TES4 record. You'll also want to make sure all form IDs start with "00", not "01" or "02". Edited March 7, 2011 by Moraelin

davidlallen
I think the instructions given are for fnvedit, and the OP has requested how to do this in FOMM. Please use fnvedit and its excellent training manual, to set the ESM bit in the file. You cannot do it in geck, and I do not believe there is any way to do it in FOMM. I was reading on a different site that stated it was possible but did not say how.
Quetzlsacatanango
You can do it in FOMM, although it is not the best way.Open tessnip from the menuOpen your pluginGo to spells -> make esmSave
davidlallen
Thanks for the info. I guess by the time you have opened tesnip, you may as well have opened fnvedit. It does sound a little easier in tesnip. But, fnvedit can do a lot more things.
Quetzlsacatanango
FNVedit is the only tool I know of that generates the ONAM records, which have to do with making modifications to master files (in fnvedit, look at the brokensteel.esm header). It is the right tool for this sort of thing. Other ways work too though if you don't need that funciton or just want to fix the skin color issue or something like that.
