fooflinger
Hi, so I started playing Oblivion again with Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul, and while fun, it's been kicking my ass. I have a hard time just killing people in robes, snow leopards, etc. So before I take on the main quest, I think it would be a good idea to train up A LOT. Can anyone suggest some good training spots for early in the game? Only mobs I found that are easy are skeletons, but hell I kill those in 2 hits. Would appreciate any tips as well being new to the mod.
Axxaw
The best way to succeed in OOO is to understand the changes, OOO changes the power structure for weapons in such that in an OOO game the best method for attacking is Marksman, so getting in pot shots with a bow before swinging your sword will put you in a better position to survive. Then again you can just adjust the difficulty slider until you can get stronger and then adjust it back. Oh, and one more piece of advice, stay close to cities to get experience, the further away from cities and roads the tougher the enemies are. wetblanket
Back when I bothered to grind, mud-crabs were pretty useful. Note: These are very artificial methods and I no longer employ them but they do work. For increasing melee skills increase the difficulty to 100 and make sure to dodge the crab attacks. Doing a circuit of Lake Rumare will increase your melee skills considerably especially at low levels. For increasing armour and blocking reduce the difficulty to 1 and find a group of 3 or 4 mud-crabs. Let them surround you and do their thing, healing yourself as necessary. The Anvil FG was my spot of choice for acrobatics. Near the stairs to the upper floor there is a pile of boxes. Get on top, put on auto-run and jump as fast as you can. Because of the lack of headroom you 'jump' very rapidly. Upstairs, outside Azzan's office is a convenient place for sneaking. NPC's are close by in the dining area but rarely can spot you. Put on autorun, crouch and 'sneak' into the corner. Go and have a coffee.
