thirdaxis
Ok, I have a strange problem I can seem to shed. Someone here must know the answer :) Here's the scoop: I recently started up a save game of Oblivion after a while of not playing (I've been doing some console gaming recently) and noticed that none of the local maps were displaying properly. by properly I mean not at all. Just a big blank canvas: no outlines of the city structures or those in the countryside. Only the locations of doors showed up after getting fairly close to them. Very strange. I thought it might be one of the mods I was running (BT Mod and OOO), so I turned them off and started a new game to see if that was it. No dice: still no local maps. Well, I archived my saves and uninstalled everything... mods, the original Oblivion, everything. I reinstalled Oblivion from the start and tried a pure vanilla game. Again, the local maps were still gone (!) What am I missing here? Is there a way to be sure and delete ALL the info and potential conflicts? Thanks! 3rd, somewhat annoyed. Abramul
Did you try deleting the Oblivion folder? Did you delete the .ini from your first install?
thirdaxis
Did you try deleting the Oblivion folder? Did you delete the .ini from your first install? I tried that :( Will try again to see if I did something wrong (with me, it wouldn't be surprising). Now I feel incredibly dumb. Turns out if the res of the game is set to 1366x768 (my monitor res) the local map disappears. Go figure.
