bstm300
I would greatly appreciate some clarification on the specifics of installing BOMM with Boss. My primary guide in installing the tools needed for Oblivion modification has been the Tomlong75210 Guide. I'm also using Tomlong75210's other guide to installing BOMM on Tomlong second guide From First Guide: 14. Install BOMM: Create a folder in your documents folder for Microsoft Word macros, and drop the BOMM archive in it.Extract the BOMM archive thereOpen the BOMM fileAt the top, the very first line, correct the path to your masterlist.txt file (located in your Data folder.) From Second Guide: Install BOMM: == Shortcut Creation Steps===Right-clicking on and choose copyRight-click on the desktop or quick launch bar and choose "paste shortcut"Before completing the configuration, copy the path to your BOMM file (not including the file name itself, just to the folder)Scroll down to the "Installation" section in order to configure Microsoft Word for your BOMM configuration. My Question: The last part of part 14 is what I don't understand. Ok, so I installed BOSS from the BOSSinstaller.doc file, and a BOMM folder was installed in my documents folder. Path: C:\Users\XXXXXX\Documents\BOMM Docs. I'm not sure if this installed in the correct spot, but anyways, I copied the BOMM.doc inside of this folder to the desktop. Opening up the properties of the BOMM.doc on the desktop, I proceeded to change the target path to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\oblivion\Data\BOSS\masterlist.txt" as I believed I was directed to do. Did I do this correctly? Also, if you look near the bottom of the shortcut creation steps, the directions say to, "copy the path to your BOMM file (not including the file name itself, just to the folder)." What does this mean exactly? Edited March 7, 2011 by bstm300
Smooth613
I see no reason to use BOMM anymore with the later versions of BOSS that have been around for the past handful of months. You can create and manipulate your own User List to add and sort unknown mods where you like, add or override BASH tags, add comments, etc... You can also override current rules in the masterlist for existing mods. It's redundant to use BOSS and BOMM and I see no reason to need both.
