VisualVertex
For some reason after downloading the newest patch oblivion wont open anymore even if using Oblivion Mod Manager and i dont know what to do. I wonder if theres an easier solution instead of deleting and reinstalling it
Balakirev
Are you running either or both of the expansions? If so, you wouldn't want to use the patch for Oblivion, but for the latest expansion you're running. ...and in any case, never just delete a game. Always uninstall it. MarkInMKUK
If you have JUST Oblivion installed, use the Oblivion patch (being sure to get the correct version - either UK or US - they ARE different!) - if you have Shivering Isles installed then get the Shivering Isles version, and ONLY install that, do NOT install the Oblivion one. The general recommendation then is to install the Unofficial Patches for Oblivion, shivering Isles, and whichever official mods you have (Knights of the Nine, Horse Armor, etc., etc.) There's also a supplemental update to the Unofficial Patch which sould be applied AFTER all that lot. I downloaded them all, and made it into one big OMOD file so it's easy to reapply
bben46
In addition to what has already been covered. If you have the retail DVD version, the patches from the official Beth site work. However, if you have a download version, you must go to where you downloaded from to get the proper patch - D2D is an example of this. The steam version is automatically patched by steam. If you have installed the wrong patch - you MUST reinstall the entire game as a patch cannot be removed once installed. If you have a pirate version, you are on your own as we cannot and will not help thieves.
