Sunset Sarsaparilla's Wild Wild West World

I mean that SS could be used to disperse something throughout the populace. It could be an FEV strand, or something else entirely (mind control nanites?) It could be to create super soldiers, or perhaps to immunize the population against biological weapons (or maybe they're testing a bio weapon on their own people) etc.

So I got a new worldspace (Sunset Valley) put together and put the roller-coaster from Primm in it. I thought the roller-coaster could be the boundary of the amusement park proper (it's a pretty good size area). Originally I had the idea of a carnival like setting with two long parallel rows of booths, but I think that might really kill the frame rate. So instead I think a better idea will be to set up a Hollywood stylized western town and activities can be grouped in buildings instead. Maybe in the street will be the western shows (Which gives some good sniping points on roof tops when the androids turn hostile). It will have (at least one) saloon, casino, food court/restaurant, arcade, gift shop, museum etc.

I think I'm going to use a few holograms in the arcade. You pay your pre-war money and then get to have a "real-life" shootout with famous outlaws (holograms). You will of course use a holographic revolver and get chips for scoring high points against the outlaws, until they "kill" you.

Then you can redeem your chips for trinkets (which will actually be useful or valuable). There will be other more traditional carnival games like darts thrown at balloons, shooting a clown head with a water gun, shooting duck targets with a BB gun etc.

The chips will have the same icon on them as the Sunset Sarsaparilla bottle caps and will be usable in the casino and be (possibly) redeemable for pre-war money.

I'm going to take the giant bottle from the sunset factory entrance along with some assets from the Mormon fort & Jacobstown to give the outside of the park a western fort look.

I think there is going to be unique variants of Sunset Sarsaparilla as well, say for example, Prickly Pear Sunset Sarsaparilla, Honey Mesquite Sunset Sarsaparilla. Drinks that were being test marketed at the park before going into wide distribution. And I'd like to add in a Sunset Sarsaparilla Beer as well.

There will be a lot of re-texturing for all the souvenir items available. Ball caps, clothes, baseball bats, Sunset Sarsaparilla bottle lights, etc. Everything you'd find in a gift shop. Most of the pre-war trinkets worthless. But some could be usefull. For instance a yellow Sunset Sarsaparilla aluminum bat would have higher health and be lighter. Perhaps the Sunset Sarsaparilla radios could be broken apart for electronic scrap etc.

I thought of dressing the tribals in clothing distributed by the park (ie ragged Sunset Sarsaparilla t-shirts, ball caps etc), since none of the original survivors clothes would have lasted. But there may be some homemade stuff too if the valley is big enough for crops (cloth) or game (leather).

I'll try to put up a page on nexus with the stuff sometime next week. That way if anyone wants to help we can grab assets from there, and I really, really need the help. I think the mods too big/take too long unless there is a team working on it.

I may be willing to do some voice acting, and i will try and help with idea's when ever (as i have no modding ability).

You could use Ol' Festus (with different dialogue) as the front gate ticket taker.

I'm only good at writing, but I've got plenty of time on my hands, so I'm up for backstory/dialogue writing if you need it. What are the resources you need, and what are the things you'd like to add? WOuld you need new models?

Well I think we could get away with using vanilla resources, but if we have access to a talented modeler I would think that new weapon variants in the museums (for historic firearms) would be a big plus. And new models for the arcade/carnival section would really add to the whole expeience. Some will be easy. I think I could probably make a nif of a baloon if there arn't any. I'm pretty sure I can make a simple nif for the duck targets as well. But other assets in the carnivale/araced section would be well out of my skill set.

Oh and possibly new brain models for the mainframe and a modified protectron that has a brain under i'ts dome would be a nice touch. Maybe just put the nif from Rex's brain dome in place of the protectron dome. But the brain models could be easily worked around so they'r not essential.

voice acting is always appreciated. Davidallen had suggested using goldwave for making robotic sounding voices and I may also use a touch of that on the androids. I'm also curious to see how easy it will be to re-texture the human faces with some patches of skin missing and electronics underneath (for the androids). If it's anything like re-texturing a weapon it will be a piece of cake.

I don't think we'll need the PervBot, I actually have some custom Sunset Sarsaparilla re-textured protectrons. Allthough I still havn't added their boots & pistols & gunbelt to the model and I need to make the yellow more orange, but you can get a basic idea of what they look like from these pics;

Hi again, I have been trying to start the project for a wile now but no luck, the problem is that after i have made a new world map i wan't to generate the ground ( or LOD as it is called ) but when i do that G.E.C.K stop responding :(

Hi Kagstrom2100, I'v been looking at tutorials for world creation and they say the geck is really, really, buggy for it. But LOD is actually level of detail and that's one thing we don't have to worry about much inside a steep canyon (ie you can't see past the canyon walls).

So last night after spending over an hour galloping around the uncharted world spaces I just started a new world space myself. I dropped all the assets from primm in there (because I wanted the roller coaster, street and parking lot). But I havn't put anything else in yet. It is, so far, working out pretty well.

If your creating your own worldspace for a different project take a look at this page;

http://www.theengineeringguild.co.uk/fallout-3-creating-worldspaces-the-easy-way

If you working on the Sunset Sarsaparilla's Wild Wild West World I can start a page on nexus and put the esp there for you. I havn't put up the cliff walls from the valley yet though.

Hi, I fixed it by running Geck in Windows 7 Comparability mode :) . Another problem we have is that i have no idea how you have pictured the SSWWW to be so i suggest we make 2 different and compare them late. and BTW why do you have 2 Wild in SSWWW ? i like it better with only 1...

The 2 wilds in the name actually comes from some old show I saw a rerun of called wild, wild west. It was really campy/corny but they had sort of high tech (for the day) in the wild west. Then will smith stared in a remake of the series (in film). But it's not a big deal, it could have one wild in the name.

In re: to your second point I'd hate to see us duplicate efforts. Plus I'd really like to start on the park proper and if I'm working on the valley it's going to eat up my time. I'll see if I can't start a page for the project on nvnexus so we can be working from the same esp.

So, what are the exact things needed in the arcade? What types of games, etc.

COuple ideas

a train ride (probably broken, maybe a quest to fix it?)

log flumes? they started as daredevils riding down flumes used for transporting lumber down mountainsides

a mine type ride/attraction (haunted house type thing, or something else?)

rodeo ride? maybe a derby racetrack or something

panning for gold

stagecoach ride

campgrounds (indian villages?)

saloons- food, music, dancing, and the occasional brawl

A few ideas from the peanut gallery:

A saloon would be cool

There should be a classic shooting gallery (finely a use's for BB gun's)

A broken farris wheel that just keeps spinning (ironically there could be bodys stuck sitting in the seats of the wheel)

Bumper cars ?

High striker - You try to ring the bell by striking a platform with a mallet

Whac-A-Mole Rat (this would be fun, popping mole rat heads with a mallet)

Run down hunted house (could be western or a mine)
