new to nifscope

hello i am an experienced Maya user in 3D modelling , rigging & animating.

I have recently gotten interested in mods and am trying to fix meshes within fallout new vegas,

specifically the gap where the characters wrist should be on the NCR combat ranger armor.

i have clossed the gaps on the armor and got it back into nifscope, however the mesh is invisibe in game

i m pretty sure its because of missing items in the block list, but i have no idea how to fix this any help would be

greatly apprerciated

as you can see the mesh in top image has gaps where the wrists are, this is the vanilla mesh

the mesh in the bottom image has no gap where the wrists are supposed to be, but the block list is missing many things compared to the vanilla mesh

I'm sorry, this is the subforum for site feedback and questions, not questions for nifskope or whatever game you're attempting to mod for (I don't know because you didn't mention the game). In future you'd probably be best served attempting to reach other modders for input in the relevant game subforum but I really can't offer you any more assistance than that.

Going by the term "NCR", which I've heard mentioned before in the Fallout universe, I guess it's one of those two sections you're searching for:

http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/forum/287-fallout-3-mod-talk/

http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/forum/354-new-vegas-mod-talk/

If it's not, then you'll find the discussion forums for "all" games over here:

http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/forum/316-nexus-site-forums/

Your images are way too small for me to see anything in them, not even when I download them, and I don't know how exactly everything NIF works in the Fallout games, but usually the modding guides for creating new models when there's no readily available export scripts/plugins available for the game in question always instruct about ways to just take an existing NIF file of the same nature, so you preserve all required additional elements in the tree and only need to adapt some maybe, and then replace the actual models/geometries inside with the newly exported ones of your own doing. Of course the way how to do that and what all must be adapted afterwards is different from game to game, but this is something the fine folks hanging around the proper game's modding forums will be all too happy to help you with, if you ask them nicely.

thank you so much.

i am trying to mod Fallout new Vegas

and i am only altering an existing mesh as well but no luck

also whenever i try to upload larger images it says the file is too large

which is odd since the pictures are so tiny

anyways thank you again
