luska233
Well, everything was going exceptionally well, when I downloaded a package of mods that included:- Bob armory;- FCOM;- Francesco's new addon items and new creatures;- Mart monster mod;- Oblivion War Cry; (OWC) and- Oscuro Oblivion overhall (OOO) So, after many incompatibility problems, crash and others, I managed to make it work. But inside the game now it seems that the speaking sounds are gone. No words are spoken by the NPC's, and when you talk to any of them, nor the mouth moves. One more thing: In BananaSplit Better Cities mod I'm using, the university got some errors in meshes. It appears that yellow balloon saying "WTF? You meshes are broken", something like that. Already, I tried to use the archieveinvalidation invalidated, and did not work. Please help me.
madmardigan409
FCOMI just recently got a FCOM setup working with a ton of mods, these guides are what worked for me so maybe they can help you. What I did was follow three guides and cross reference them with one another., there maybe a much better approach to this whole process but this is how I did it and it's working perfectly. It did take a few installs to sort it out though. http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/walkthroughs/fcomguide I used this guide to create all of my OMOD installs and bash patch details. I honestly can't say if it's outdated or not, couldn't seem to find a date in any of the posts. The process seems pretty up to date though. The install instructions do not match step by step. http://devnull.sweetdanger.net/fcominstall.html I used this site for the "latest" [hopefully] versions of FCOM and some addons. The install guide is not user friendly and does not match step by step install instructions from the latest OMOD build. http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/1079933-50-steps-to-ctd-almost-free-fcom-game/ This is the main guide I followed for install order and mods. Some of those mods are outdated so be sure to search for the most recent versions. I used this for my main install instructions because of the huge amount of mods the guy has working with FCOM. I personally mixed it up a bit but I did use a good amount of updated versions of those mods. Several other things I use, Streamline 3.1 and Oblivion Stutter Remover. They can work together so read up on it. Most of the info for Oblivion Stutter Remover seems to be sprawled across the net, so do some research on the options there. SOUND PROBLEMNot sure what the issue is but try using wrye bash to build a batch patch. There maybe conflicting mods there. I have seen this in my game when adding hair/eye compilations but I had no problems after building a correct batch patch. You need to check info for FCOM details on that, there are some parts that you do not want to apply in the batch patch. BETTER CITIESIf you go to the nexus download page, there are 3 required files you need to install to get it working correctly. I think you are missing 1 or more of them. Also be sure to read the info there, some mods conflict with better cities and have patches. I'm kinda shooting from the hip here so if you need more detailed info, let me know. I think allot of these issues can be corrected by following the 3 tutorials to install FCOM first, then add other mods to the build. I when with the OMOD route for installing mods just because I'm confortable with it. From reading some posts, BAIN seems to be a good way to go but you'll still need OMOD for some installs. I don't know allot of details on the difference of OMOD/BAIN, maybe google it if you're interested. Also, be sure to install to a different directory other then "programfiles" for windows7/vista. The UAC conflicts with some parts of oblivion and/or OBSE.
luska233
Godamit friend, you wrote a lot, dont you? xD Oh man, thank you. I will read these tutorials will be helpful, but I think I'll have to reinstall Oblivion, because ... Well, this exorbitant amount of mod's, most do not know what's the point (We're talking about files that involve Francesco, FCOM, Mart ...). Well, yes I downloaded all the components of the Better Cities, but I managed to fix this problem by simply reinstalling the components. I'll try to use the Bash, thanks. Just to remember, I use Windows 7.
madmardigan409
Sorry to hit you with a wall of text but the FCOM install process is such a huge pain. I thought it would be easier to just type out a quick process. I reinstalled oblivion around 7 times before I got the whole thing working, I finally got a good install by following that info. I just wish I had run across something like this post two weeks ago, would have saved me some time and trouble ;) .
