Ice

This poem is dedicated to my dearest friend. He has, time and time again, proved himself to be the sun of my life.

Ice

I conquer lonely waters, freeze them still

But only when the sun is kind to me

Sea of malice, sea of evil will

You exist to hinder what could be

The blackest sailor is your friend

You hold his ship above your waves

Ripples dark until the icy end

When the sun the path to freedom paves

The winter is the seaman's greatest foe

As coldest winds his hollow bones do pierce

Sunlight turns its gaze to all below

Guiding me with inspiration fierce

Above the blackened sea I make my stand

Disheartened sailors turn their ships away

Sunlight lends to me its helping hand

Truest friend, my soul at rest to lay

May your kind and gentle touch and your lovely breeze continue to turn away evil ships from me and my troubles.
