darklordzelot
Hello! I need someones opinion on something. So if you're a gun nut or just know a lot about them i'd appreciate your help. So on a scale of 1 top 10 (7.5 being around power armor level) I would like to know whereabouts you would place the ammo on that scale based on its penetration. For example - 9x19mm parabellum - 1.522LR - 0.5 I know that's probably way off but it's just to demonstrate. For reference 1 to 5 is around Kevlar levels, then 5.5 to 7 is steel and ceramic with 7.5 upwards being power armor. Any help is appreciated and sorry if I explained this horribly I woke up not long ago XD.
Moraelin
Well, one measure of penetration power is the kinetic energy divided by the surface area. While not all projectiles expand the same (think HP vs APCR), it's still good for a rule of thumb IMHO. And the energy at muzzle is freely available on the web. You can even hit wikipedia for it. Moraelin
Also, if you want some real life data, you can look at the body armor classes needed to reliably stop something IRL:http://www.bulletproofme.com/Ballistic_Protection_Levels.shtml
