Daedelus114 Posted March 10, 2011 Share Posted March 10, 2011 I know there are a lot of world overhaul mods and huge expansions that nearly double the size of the game, but as I travel the wasteland (in FoNV and Fo3) I keep getting disappointed by buildings that I can't go in. You know, the scores of perfectly (well, relatively) fine buildings with boarded up doors and windows in Freeside, and all the houses with boarded up doors out in the wastes. I tried to get into modding, but I've never been good with interiors and lighting. What I'd like to inspire, if someone feels the same way, is a mod project that starts to look for unused buildings (even partially destroyed buildings that aren't otherwise used) and create interiors for them. These would be populated with NPCs according to the prominent factions in that area. They could be merchants in busy areas (like Freeside), and in residential areas just throw around some farm families with generic conversation menus. I may try to start this one on my own since I think this would be most appropriate just using generic NPCs. I wouldn't necessarily create any new factions or quests, I'd just make the game a bit more populated. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

This would add a much more realistic feel to the game too, as houses would be abandonned, rather than boarded up. You could loot the homes, or even stare at charred corpses. I know if I were making a post-nuclear game, I'd include this sort of stuff. Silly Obsidian and Bethesda.
