Okay well where to start? Should I go ahead and continue preparing this game or do I put that on hold and work on making me faster, better, stronger first? I am running a strict Win10 64bit PC but I do have two SATA drives and one SSD that my current games are on. I also have a laptop but unfortunately I've already installed Win10 on it also but it was a 64bit Win7 before.

 

Two things. 1. you mention using Mod organizer, I'm currently not using that, should I be?

2. what is the iso software you mentioned I found ISO Disk and Magic ISO but neither of them looked like what you were talking about. Can you point me there.

 

I found WD my passport ultra the old model pretty cheap so maybe I can spring for one if you recommend it.

My suggestions are there for you to decide what to do, all I am doing is giving you choices to make , I can't Advise you to choose which is better or worse.

well now you need to find out the differences between those two devices, regardless of the games or the OS involved, they will never be the same.

These are two diver devices and the software is designed to work with each ,there fore, none of it will be the same.

 

The downloads for the OS 10 updates by the AMD and Nvidea companies are not the same ,they are specific...one has data for control over a touch screen, that most laptops have today, the other for PC's that "MAY" have tablet capabilities but is desktop PC only.

 

It boils down to understanding exactly is there...just like xlive controls in a small game like FO3....steam may not be installing data into the game, but it is there...on the servers when you connect your steam game online.

well authors spend a lot of money to make these things, ton's of hours of study, hard work, for their own pleasure and then say hey, I wonder if others might like this? so they upload it here or there or where ever seems to fit "their needs".

10's media controlers ,since they removed the media software, may have increased the speed of sound files , all formats....maybe?

The experiment to find out.

you need a toshiba flash drive, usb. it's white in color, say $8 bucks at wallmart stores. 16 gig ,32gigs in size are more than enough for flash storage.

1. Fomm, bsa browser ,click voice files bsa ,extract all to that usb drive.
2. make a folder on an SATA drive or your SSD drive, does not matter.
3. select all files in the USB's locations and select Move command to the new folder you just made.
4. Stop watch. see just how long it takes for the OS to transfer this data.
5. sound files extracted will Tax any OS to it's knees, take up all resources to BSOD condition. this process Pushes the boundaries.
6. Conduct these tests on both units and reply the results.
7. you will be astounded if done on windows 7 ,8, 8.1 as to just how much is used by the OS to render this code Expended and NOT compressed.

First I already went ahead and made the zip file of the DLC, Data folder and the Game root files. All are saved to the desktop. The executable is 1.7 but I didn't patch it the DVD for GOTY was already 1.7. Should I patch it anyway? I can uninstall and reinstall and start a saved game just before leaving the vault. But like I said it's still going to be 1.7 I can't get around that.

 

I would certainly like to build a multi profile/game repertoire and can purchase a passport drive but the ones I'm seeing are all USB 3 even the "old" ones. I'll keep looking for older older ones.

yeah, that's gonna be tough ,your gonna need to look at stores that were or are not so popular to find the older stuff at.

Tech goes by soooo fast we loose out on things, specially customized things like this.

move the zips to a safe place off the desktop. Now that the data is saved, secure ,you copy the My Documents data to a safe place too.

Uninstall the game and all that's related to it.

 

start fresh.. and see what takes place, the customizations process goes in a different way.

windows 1064bit put's us on the bleeding edge here, we have no idea if the cutting edge tweaks will work on this OS?

 

I already threw away my passport drive with the freebie on it, It wrote code to it's on-board chips so I could not reformat it.

I moved the sounds.bsa file from Anchorage 132 items. on the PC it took 2.5 seconds to go from the flash drive to D: but 16.49 to go from D: to the flash drive. This is a home build PC. the laptop is a ASUS and it took 4.96 from the flash drive to D: and 10.86 from D: to the flash drive.

this deals with windows, it always has.

That is a security code, "hault" fault due to any number of reasons, but could now be something new..(I doubt)

If windows see's code processing and the process Violates the system's allocated working areas, or permission parameters, it will stop the game.

If the code touched a spot in Video ram, where direct x has control over? it will stop the program.

most likely it's the OS security though.

This code happens on a tone of applications so it's not just a game that causes it, it IS windows, it's generated and post by the OS...otherwise there would be no message Too post.

 

the Event manager can be used to track it down, most have no clues what it all means, we never do unless we link things as they occur.

there are tons of errors, bad one the OS will ignore, but a running application is in the open so it will get shut down.

ah, 10 IS faster ,but the media format exchange process seems to be sluggish.

but the bsa you chose is very small, pick a big one. and test it. sound bsa

these "bsa's" are they whole?

OR have you extracted them into folders, where they are no longer a bsa archive but instead are open files?

mo, the version I use for most tests are 1.2.12

 

you can choose what you like ,but .38 will no longer allow data sorting or access to the data folders...just so you know, I do have my own reasons.

 

18 works ok...but not required.

 

Ncc tools ,nexus stuff for bsa archiving access, these things Fo3 was left out ,focus on a later game so the software want that game.

 

loot, I do not use it, don't need it because I use fomm for this old game.

I launch fomm as a process from inside of mo, they work as one and both benifit me better and stronger controls.

 

the really cool thing here is when or if the networks touch stuff with out me knowing it, changes codes and screws up the graphics, Good ol Fomm has a by pass built in...yeah. it will override outside influences and launch the game graphics as intended, but it will also show what is not allowed to run too. any time you see an app show things "greyed out", that means something is messing wit the game graphics controls.

 

It can be anything. It can be even your monitor / TV set too. VGA or HDMI ports...hardware drives go nut's cuz we are nuts .
