tawney
So I don't know if this is fixable, but for some reason all the vampires including my vampire character have alien looking eyes instead of the pink/red ones. I first noticed this after I deleted the Sheepherder's Vampirism mod and started using the Lithian's Nature of the Beast. However that mod wasn't supposed to do anything to the eyes. I checked my texture>characters>eyes folder to see if there was a vampire eye replacement somehow hidden away, and there wasn't. Just my Curse of Hircine and Dryad folders. I have no clue what to do now to get the old eyes back. I can't make a clear screen shot of the problem, but here is a low quality pic from my phone. http://i54.tinypic.com/2aakd1l.jpg Also, none of my other mods affect vampirism, so I'm pretty sure they aren't causing the problem. The only cosmetic mod I'm using is Ren's, which isn't conflicting with anything else. Edited March 11, 2011 by tawney
Qwaxalot
They have "googly eyes". Fixable with wrye bash or http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37265
tawney
I tried it, but it didn't seem to fix the problem.
tawney
Also, I just noticed that this problem is only affecting vanilla races. I have a couple vampire save files using race mods, and they have the default eyes.
Telyn
Do you have Cobl and if you do, are you using the the races features?
tawney
I'm not sure what Cobl is, but when I did a search I found two files called Assorted to Coble.csv and TI to Cobl_Formids.csv in my Bash Patches folder. I don't ever remember installing Cobl, unless it automatically came with a race mod. The race mods I use are Luchaires Dryad, Sirens and Tritons, and Selenes Succubus. I have seen some of those hair and eyes used in the Dryad and Siren races. Edited March 11, 2011 by tawney
Telyn
Cobl is a rather complex system which has many features. It has an optional race pack which requires you download a cosmetic resource package to function properly, but those races are not part of its race pack. It should not have come along with any other race pack. I asked because there are several different kinds of eye meshes used in mods which conflict with each other. I think you have some sort of conflict between eye meshes here. Symptoms of cosmetic mod conflicts often show up as eye mismapping. Characters may have "4 eyes," distorted eyes with uncentered pupils, or in some cases the eyeball itself can become offset, leaving a hole in all or part of the eye socket. I have seen eyes that look like this when I had a mod that conflicted with the Cobl races, but you're not using them. There is a feature in Wrye Bash which sorts eyes and hair by race in an attempt to get rid of the google eye issue, but it isn't infallible and has limits. I believe that feature uses Cobl code but since I have Cobl, I am unsure if it works without Cobl. To further complicate matters, the UOP (Unofficial Oblivion patch) comes with a cosmetic fix for vampires, and it should not be used with any other vampire cosmetic fix. Wrye Bash has a vampire fix feature you may have selected when you built your bashed patch. I don't know if those are compatible or not. Many vampire mods change the eyes. Things to try: Run BOSS to make sure your load order is correct. If you have more than one mod that fixes vampires or any vampire overhauls, try disabling. Try running without either Luchaire's races or the Succubus race. Luchaire's races should all be compatible with each other, but other custom races may not use the same eye mesh. Try disabling either Luchaire's or the Succubus. This is a comment from the succubus author: "You can use all mods which contain eye textures based the on eye meshes of Rens Beauty Pack. Eye textures based on Elaborate Eyes (like the ones of Beautiful People) and the default eyes are not compatible. Luchaire's Dryad Race seems to use Capucine's eyes. Here is a comment a user made about Capucine's Character expansion, which includes those eyes: "The mod is great and has worked except that all the vampires have screwed up eyes... could you please tell me what I can do to fix this? Thanks...=) " If these two eye packages are conflicting, you may be able to sort them using the feature in Wrye Bash that tries to eliminate google eyes. Do be warned that if you have more types of eye meshes than you realize, it might fix the vampire eyes but cause eye issues with other races. That feature may also remove custom hairstyles from some custom races. If none of those work, then you will need advice from one of our local Bash experts, and they will probably need to see your load order posted. tawney
I don't have very many mods enabled, so I just disabled them all at once. The vanilla eyes came back, so I enabled only a few suspicious mods that might be causing it, and just as I thought, the glitchy eyes came back. I just did a little trial and error enabling and disabling until I narrowed it down to the Ashara's Sirens and Tritons mod. This was the only mod I had active and it gave my character the glitchy eyes. It isn't conflicting with any other mods, since the rest of my mods were disabled. I guess this would be a question I need to ask the mod creator.. Still, I can't understand why a race mod all by itself would be causing this. Oh, looks like there was a vampire patch in the S&T addons after all. Completely missed it on the first install. Edited March 12, 2011 by tawney
Telyn
Oh good, glad you found the mod that caused it! Perhaps the author will make a compatability patch, or you may be able to resolve it with Bash. I hope you don't have to change the race of a favorite character.
Balakirev
On Ashara's Sirens and Tritons mod page, there's mention of this file in the description: * Asharas Sirens And Tritons - no vampire eyes fixed patch v30: Download this file if your main character is not a Siren or Triton and you want to become a vampire. Consider downloading this, and seeing if it helps while her S&T mod.
