thibaudv
I'm not a programmer and I simply have no idea how to work with those lua utils. Supposedly, this tool https://github.com/adam-roth/bundle-explorer bypasses the file size limitations of quickbms, so I want to make a sword to test it out. Problem is I can't get any of the textures into this tool http://jlouisb.users.sourceforge.net/tuto_get_the_witcher_3_models.htmlso I'm kinda stuck right now on unpacking the textures. If anyone could release some kind of guide on how to do this, that'd be great :)
theoverchargedbyson
Don't know any user-friendly method but, if you don't mind quite a huge download, here's the link to the game's unpacked textures: W3 Unpacked DDS.Hope this helps.Cheers! thibaudv
Was hoping to unpack them myself as I'm trying to avoid the 6 gb download, but still, thanks for the help :)
theoverchargedbyson
Right. Inconvenient, I know.Btw, might I ask how you're gonna make your sword? Are you gonna try and make the E3 Steel Sword? :whistling: Edited August 8, 2015 by thin_o_vintage
thibaudv
I have zero experience in 3d modeling, so I plan to just download something like blender and change something very minimal to an existing sword to see if it works. Once I've confirmed that the method works, I'll try to start from scratch on a sword. Might take some time as I'm a noob but I have a pretty clear picture of how I want my sword to look. thibaudv
Are you gonna try and make the E3 Steel Sword? :whistling: Gonna leave the E3 Steel Sword for you :p If it all works, I will try to release a complete guide on how to do this yourself, so that you and others can start making cool stuff :)

thibaudv
Nope, besides the fact that I encountered another fatal problem: once the sword would be made, there is currently no way to get the file back into the w2ent (or whatever) file format, since the tool made by that guy on the redkit forums only works one way.. I've also heard (not sure if reliable sources though) that the current redkit2 release is planned for Q1 2016; I might take a break from the Witcher if that's the case Edited August 12, 2015 by thibaudv
