VaultPi Posted March 13, 2011 Share Posted March 13, 2011 well in other discussions of vehicles, mounts, etc and of working as a security for a regular caravan It got me thinking.how about a caravan management mod. where instead of trying to deal with the main quest you send teams equipped with the best frieght animals and carts you can get, and try to transport goods from point to point. With you deciding where your central HUB for your goods is going to be. your standing rep with the various factions helps you get through their territory with minimal cost/harrassment, also making deliveries raises your standing with groups though it also lowers it with apposed groups. example picking up a load of say Humanitarian Medical Supplies from the Great Khans increases your standing with the Khans but reduces it slightly with the Legion and the NCR, however say delivering it to Freeside, Increases your standing with Freeside, The Kings, The NCR, and the Strip, While lowering it with The Fiends, the Chrimson Caravan, and Silver Rush. as with otiginal fallout cargo carts can be hitched to brahmin, post apoc style cars (like those in Fallout Tactics), if opperating in Legion territory you can use litterial human power to haul your goods, (though that doesn't look good to other factions), So what can I haul?the following would be natural suppliers of:Goodsprings: small balk water, gecko meats & hides, shineThe Khans: supply drugs, small water, medicinethe ranches: foodcottonwood cove: Food/fresh water, slaves (considered a black market item elsewhere, hope you run into a ranger patrol)most wasteland and ruined areas can supply you with salvage goodsPlaces that need:New Vegas needs food badly (espceially for their casinos)all settlements need fresh water (except for Goodsprings, main NCR bases, Cottonwood Cove, Red Rocks)all settlements that aren't ranches or hunting lodges need food (but can't pay as much as vegas can)Thorn needs baby animals Other things you can build: safari for thorn location at any site where you have abundant human power and can get a build up mod that turns a varmit rifle into a tranq rifle, bulk tranq darts can be bought from the Khanswater purification plant, anywhere that has a source of polluted water (Primm, Nipton, NCRCF, most NCR holdings) can build a purification plant with the right amount of salvage goods this allows the settlement to be usable for selling a small amount of bulk water. (which is needed for just about everything)distillery: anywhere you have power, and crops like maize you can produce alcohol for either consumption, or for engine use. VaultPi Posted March 13, 2011 Author Share Posted March 13, 2011 also since weapon mods seem to get made quickly: Tranq Rifle: a Varmit Rifle Mod, all upgrades allowed for Varmit Rifles work on it.fires only Tranq Darts, see rescipie below, make available through vendorsTranq Darts: 40 survival, or 40 Repairrequires: 10 5.56 casings, 10 small rifle primer, 20 rifle powder, 1 Bark Scorpion gland, 5 empty syringes.Damage low Damage high Fatigue Damage.Irwin's special: rescipie available throug the great Khans, Tranq dart rifle ammo that will knock out a deathclaw. Starts you out with a 3 brahmin train to carve out your trade empire. But I'v been busy with other mods and havn't had time to add any of the features I wanted for it. But It's a start if you want a micromanagement caravan mod (ie you do everything yourself).
