mossay
when i open 'packages' in CS, it crashes.this also happens when i open the AI box in the NPC window. i'm going to either need some tech support for the CS, or some blank NPC's with selected AI packages? Telyn
If you are using Windows 7, it is likely the UAC (User Account Controls) is breaking the CS. There are two issues with Windows 7. The first is permissions. The second is that windows 7 likes to move files to virtual store and does not always tell you. If you are using Windows 7, and your game is in the program files directory, you should reinstall it somewhere else like C:\Games\Oblivion. If you're not using 7, or you have already moved your game install, I'm afraid I don't know what is causing it.
mossay
I've already set myself to be an admin, and I have no trouble installing/uninstalling mods, or saving them to 'my computer'.I'm only having trouble using the AI on the construction set, it really seems to hate me. David Brasher
You have got to reinstall Oblivion and your modding software outside of Program Files. Out where it is safe. Windows 7 views mods as malware and stops them dead in their tracks to protect your computer. So you need to move everything out to a directory that it is not watching. Telyn
He's right. Here is a FAQ for Vista which also applies to Win 7. Though in my experience, giving full permissions in Windows 7 (option 2) does not fix the editing issue. My game ran just fine when I did option 2, and I could use OBSE etc. but it did not fix the problems with CS. It did give me massive headaches.http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Windows_Vista If by any chance you are using Steam, you can relocate your whole Steam installation without having to reinstall anything. I thank bben for posting this link:https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?p_faqid=231 Saves will be fine. Mods will be fine. Steam will update itself briefly, that's it.
