Camera Position

Every time I look at images in relationship to mods I wonder, "How do these people position the camera to see a complete frontal view of their character?" How do you do it?

A simple way would be to, while in 1st person view, press and hold the F key (or whatever key you have bound to switch between 1st and 3rd person) and move the mouse left or right. This switches to 3rd person and allows you to pan the camera around the character.

A better way is to enter 3rd person view, open the console and type "tfc" (without quotes) and then press enter. This enables the free camera and allows you to fly it around as you wish, viewing your character or whatever you like from any angle. Typing tfc in the console a second time disable the free camera and returns control back to the character.

Normally I just hold down the F key then drag the mouse around to swing the camera view to the front. However, with the camera being over the shoulder you often end up on one side of the screen.

There is a mod Centered 3rd Person Camera that centers the camera on the player character, not over the shoulder. It also lets you zoom out much farther using the mouse wheel, the game default zoom range is very limited. With this mod you still hold down F and drag the mouse to swing the camera around but your character remains in the middle of the picture, and you can get more panoramic shots by zooming out farther. I've got some nice screens using that mod.

Hope that is what you were looking for.

Peace,

Drake

Fwiw, you can get the increased zoomability via console command "setgs fchasecameramax ####" where "####" is the desired zoom level. I got tired of typing that into the console everytime I played so ended up going with the mod that Drake suggested. (I think I was using 500 or something like that for the console zoom level)
