I used to play it quite often, with Sims 1 I got really involved and managed to pull quite a lot of strings, causing housewives to have affairs with the new guy in the neighborhood while he was three timing his girlfriend with the Goth (pre-made family) mother.

Maybe I'm mistaken but was there not a chance that your "wishes" could go wrong? I remember being quite fond of the lamp myself.

There could be a fire, cockroaches (spelling?), plants rotting and an extra tax bill I think.

Played both, modded both, got bored with them and EA's antics. Still doesn't live up to its intention of being a housing simulator, not even close. It's more like playing with hi-tech dollies with a slightly less girlish aftertaste when properly modded. Not much else to say.
