AveTruetoCaesar
In Pelinors Falling Block Syndrome topic, me and a few others said it would make more sense for a new building to play tetris and other games like it. He said he has no interest in making it, so I've decided to see if anybody here is. The mod would add a new building and new faction to The Strip: The Itara Grand Arcade, run by The Gamers. History: Before the war, Itara was a company that introduced a new concept: controllable games for the television. The first Itara system was released in Japan in 2059, and was a big hit, so they decided to release it in other countries in 2063. However, it wasn't popular in America due to the price. Itara didn't want it to fail, so they began constructing Arcades throughout America. The games were in booths that used a quarter, and later in-house tokens to play. These arcades helped Itara sell more home consoles in the US.In 2074, the Itara Grand Arcade was built in Las Vegas. It was a place where parents could drop there young-ones off while they gambled, and in 2077, a contest of Grand Proportions was to be held there: The Grognak the Barbarian Quest of Champions contest! The conest would have had the best gamers from around the country compete in a game based on the Grognak comics, the grand prize being a Jewel-Encrusted solid Gold and Silver battleaxe. However, the contest was never completed, as the Great War began before the contest was scheduled. And like every other building in Vegas, The Grand Arcade was only slightly damaged by the fall of Civilization, and remained empty for years. In 2136, two years before Mr. House awoke from his coma, a tribe known as the Younglings(a tribe made mostly out of children under 18 because most of the adults had been slaughtered by Raiders) were the first to arrive in New Vegas. They took refuge inside The Grand Arcade, and made it their home. They were fascinated by the concept of the games, however, there were only 2 still operational, and they lacked enough power to have them on all the time, but once a month, they would play one of the games, and they were enchanted by it. However, when more tribes came into the region, they were under threat. They would have to give food to some of them in order to avoid being slaughtered. They lived in constant threat until 2 generation later, when Mr. House's Securitrons made them the offer to run the building on the strip, and they cheerfully agreed, taking the name "The Gamers". However, when Mr. House's Mr. Handy's repaired the rest of the games, it turns out some of the machines had had their cartridge's stolen. It turns out the tribe now known as the Omertas had snuck in to The Arcade and stole some of the games, thinking they might have some value. The Omertas refused to give the Cartridges back, unless they had something to exchange. The Gamers searched high and low for something of value, and then they found the Axe from the planned tournament. The Omertas gladly excepted and gave the games back. However, some gamers regretted the deal upon finding out that it was the prize in the greatest game tournament ever planned. Now: The Arcade serves the same purpose now as it did before the war: a place for gamblers to drop their kids off while they gamble. The Games available before the quest "Feel the Power!"Meteors! (Asteroids)Alien Invasion! (Space Invaders)Munch 'em Man (Pac Man)Ping (Pong)Gorilla Run (Donkey Kong)After "Feel the Power!"SPACE FIGHTER (Galaga)Bird Hunter (Duck Hunt)Mega Antonio Siblings (Super Mario Bros.)Comrade Block (Tetris)Other Quest GamesGrognak the Barbarian (For Quest "It's so bad") Since you wont win money for the games, there'll be more rewards for how you score.500 Points-Ice-Cold Nuka-Cola (Given to you by a younger Gamer)1000 Points-Nuka-Cola Victory (Also given by Younger Gamer)1500 Points-Beer (Given by Adult Gamer and so is every-prize onward)2000 Points-Party-time Mentats2500 Points-Key to Gamers member-only lounge To play the games, you need tokens. They work like chips, except 1 cap gets 1 Token. Pre-War money gets 10 tokens, NCR money gets tokens depending on the bills value, same with Legion Money. Notable Gamers:These are the gamer who talk to you and give quests and/or are a part of quests.Laurence: Laurence is the leader of the Gamers, and the oldest. At age 60, he was there when they found the Itara Grand Arcade, and thus is the natural leader. He is the father of James, a possible companion. He is part of the quest "It's so Bad".James (AKA The Angry Itara Nerd): James is a possible companion. He is one Angry motherf***er, and has quite a mouth on him. He's the champion of all the games at The Arcade, with his highest score being 200,000 on the game Mega Antonio Siblings. The reason James is so angry is because he and his best friend were jumped by two NCR Rangers hyped on Psycho. They beat the s*** out of James, and murdered his friend. And now, the Nerd wants Payback. He is involved in the Companion Quest "Die You Motherf*#@ing piece of Dog Turd". He gives you the perk "...and down it with Beer" which multiplies the affects given by beer by 2, and takes away the chance of getting addicted. He is a reference to The Angry Video Game NerdMike: Mike is the Bartender, serving non-alcoholic drinks to the kids. AveTruetoCaesar
What, no Missile Command?Oh, sorry. Most of the games I listed aren't from my time, I'm too young to have played a lot of the older ones.
VaultPi
Missile Command could be called House New Vegas Defense Grid.
AveTruetoCaesar
Missile Command could be called House New Vegas Defense Grid.Ha, I get it. Perhaps it could be a game called "American Defense". Maybe use some of Liberty-Primes dialogue in it. Mahare
The only parts I'm not fond of are the Angry Video Game Nerd bits. I absolutely despise him. Otherwise, it's a good idea, but unless you get both a good coder for the games AND a good building sculptor, it's not likely to do too well. It's a huge idea, y'know? AveTruetoCaesar
Please don't consider this a bump, because I have more ideas for the mod. If you've completed all the quests for the Gamers, and you have a high reputation with them, and have the high score on all the games, they give you a Home Itara Console. I was thinking it should look like a cross between an Atari 2600 and a NES. It should weigh a lot because it would be using Fallout world technology (no transistors). You can use it by hooking it up to the TV in your house (if it has one), or you can just sell it for 7350 caps. You can play all the Arcade games on it. As well, I have a couple of new Game ideas Shooting Gallery (Generic Shooting game, just shoot the crude guys with your crosshairs)Desert Ranger (Generic Side-Scroller. Can only be played once when asked to test it out by Richard, who has just made the game.)Band Leader (Atari-Graphic Guitar Hero! Lead you band to victory by playing the Public-Domain jazz songs perfectly!)
