the00phoenix
Virtual Games:- Civ Series- Master of Orion Series (except 3rd release)- Vice City- UFO: Aftermath (new)- Rainbow 6 Series- Wing Commander Series- Freespace SeriesThat covers it. Since the universe and story setting must be absolutly perfect for me in order to enjoy a game that lives basicly from scripted events (e.g.: the whole palette of "movie games"), I favor the more "generic" games, which may not have that good graphics but allow the user to play as he wants. Non-Virtual Games:- Warhammer 40k / Fantasy- GURPSWarhammer 40k is in theory a modern form of chess, if you benevolently exclude the hugh luck factor and the fact that the dark side gets the better rules (IMHO / controversial), but its a great hobby anyway. You collect and paint your army and hopefully defeat your enemy with better tactics (or dicing luck). For those who know the game, I collect and maintain Dark Angles and Alitoc Eldar (if thier pathfinders wouldn't be that sweet :D ).
loveme4whoiam
I have fond memories of the old SNES games that have just been unearthed by the Mario post; thanks Faust :D i remember staying over my mates (bcuz i was too poor to afford one) and playing Mario Kart (the original) until 2 in the morning. I had a B engraved in my thumb for three years of my life; i even considered getting it tattooed into my thumb so i could treasure it always. But did have a Mega Drive (who remembers them, eh?) and i have to add 1 game: Sonic. 'Nuff said.
Argoren
I'll start the other way 'round: 6) Albion - ah yes, I remember that one. Liked it quite well, unfortunately I got stuck in that *£&ç*!! dungeon and couldn't get out anymore! Nothing worked and so I finally resigned - after a couple of weeks! :bye: Can anybody tell me - could they save Albion?? 5) Neverwinter Nights 4) Civilization - the only game I can play again and again... 3) Baldur's Gate Series 2) Morrowind And the winner is... 1) Planescape Torment :D - favourite story, favourite characters, I simply love it!! I still cannot believe they stopped working on a second part :o
loveme4whoiam
I've always wondered about Planetscape. I've heard everyone saying it was the last game to have a truely good storyline (until Morrowind, obviously), but wasn't it in the Baldur's Gate realm of gameplay? I've never been a fan of that style- i got the 1/3 of Icewind Dale demo from PCZone and it put me off for life; MW was the first RPG i played since then. I keeping thinking that i've missed out on something special. Opinions?
Argoren
Baldur's Gate surely has a storyline, and others may have too, like Morrowind. The thing with Planescape is - it's a completely different world and it follows a different logic from what we are used to. Your character cannot remember anything about that world or himself. And since the story is about finding out who your character is/was and why, it gets you very deep into the storyline. There is a lot of text to read, and a lot of people doesn't seem to like it because of that - but it's absolutely worth it. The texts are really excellent! One more thing: There is no happy end! Oh, and Icewind Dale is rubbish to me...
loveme4whoiam
From what you've put about the storyline, it spunds (no offense) like the generic for most sub-standard FPS games, although it might be slightly deeper than your average twitch-shooter. Maybe i'll give it a miss - i've got enough on my RPG plate at the mo (replaying MW with 3 new characters).

Xionith
(FPS: can also mean Future Problem Solver/s) I also liked, for GBA, Zelda a link to the past. Very entertaiting, for my car ride to NC from CT (vacation)... ;) Then once I got MW it lost its touch....
