AlexxEG
After some Registry editing I corrected it. If someone really want to know how, let me know. I will gladly post it here.
Malchus
After some Registry editing I corrected it. If someone really want to know how, let me know. I will gladly post it here. Sounds incredibly interesting, please post how you accomplished this. Also, include the operating system! Windows XP? Vista? Seven? Ubunutu? Debian? OSX? I'm hoping that's an obvious statement, but just checking...
AlexxEG
This should work on Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7, but is only tested on Vista. 1. - Open Registry Editor - Press Windows button + R, this will open the "Run" dialog.2. - Write "RegEdit" and click "Ok"http://i54.tinypic.com/2zjhycj.jpg 3. - Open HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT and then start typing the extension of the file you want to fix the icon of.http://i55.tinypic.com/rc7v6a.jpg 4. - In the right window, under the Data column is the the next one you need to navigate to.http://i55.tinypic.com/9as5k2.jpg 5. - Give focus to the left window and start writing whatever was in the Data column to find it faster. Or you could scroll through the list to find it.http://i53.tinypic.com/289bjuq.jpg 6. - Once you found it, open it and make sure it have a "DefaultIcon" folder. Or "Key" as it's called. Create it by right clicking the main folder and click: New -> Key, and name it "DefaultIcon"http://i55.tinypic.com/eq8m80.jpg 7. - Click the "DefaultIcon" and you will be working with the "(Standard)" row. Edit by Right Clicking the row and click "Edit/Change"8. - You can use .exe files icons to indicate what program you use to open the file. For example, I use ""C:\Games\Fallout 3\GECK.exe",0" for .esp/.esm files. Make sure you have the ",0" in the end.9. - Now you can restart OR open up Task Manager, switch the the Process tab and kill the process: "explorer.exe"http://i51.tinypic.com/b4fbl2.jpg 10. - Switch back the "Programs" tab, click "New Task" or something (Down-Left button) and type "explorer.exe"http://i56.tinypic.com/20qnm00.jpg If a lot of stuff disappear when killing the process, it's normal. If anything is unclear, let me know, cause I suck at writing tutorials. :P
