Booieann
My manager only seems to see DAIMOD files, and not my RAR and 7Z files. did I mess something up with the installation?
Thandal
Don't know if you did anything wrong, but DAI ModManager (DAIMM) works with mod files. (Specifically, it works with .daimod files.) The file types you listed (.rar, .7z) aren't mods, they're "file archives". You must extract the contents of a file archive before there's anything for DAIMM to work with, and even then DAIMM can't help unless those contents included a .daimod file.
Booieann
thanks for responding!but uhh how do i extract the contents? if you extract from a zipped folder, then ive already done that. I don't know if they have a .daimod file. I'd assume so, since the mods came from nexus and those mods just tell me to put in the folder where my other mods are and it shows up in DAIMM, but it doesn't for me. I found out that those mods are called distributable mods and its possible to convert them to .daimod files using a modding tool, but it did say which one, or exactly how to do it, and i tried getting those tools, but no luck. I also read that there was a certain file to put those files in, but not the exact one. I'm sorry, this is really stressing me out. =(
Silverstarre
Are you using the most recent version of mod manager? Mod manager versions v 0.53 and higher should support both types of mods. When using an older mod that isn't in .daimod format you need to extract the zip/rar file using a program like winzip or winrar, which will create a folder for said mod. You should then place that folder inside your mod folder (do not remove the contents from the created folder) and then merge using mod manager. Once you've merged for the first time, the mod should then pop up in the mod list to the side in the mod manager. I can't think of any mods that would require you to place the folder anywhere other than your mod folder. If you don't mind my asking, what mod (or mods) are you trying to use that's causing you the frustration?
Booieann
Yes i have the most recent MMThanks for telling me about those programs! my mods are all .daimod files now! So everything is good now. ^_^
callthehorizon
I myself have the DAIModManager thing, but when I search for DAI pathing, it only looks for .exe files which I can't change. It doesn't even pick up my daimod files despite following all the steps. What am I supposed to do with that? :(
Thandal
The "DAI Pathing" is for the original game files, not your mods. You're supposed to point it to where the game .exe file is located...
AndraHawke
I am having trouble with the rar files. I have 7zip but I am not able to do anything with them. They are file archives? That is the file I get when I download it. Reaching my wits end here  I am using the most current version of Mod Manager and I was able to merge daimod files. Can anyone help? nightscrawl
Rar is a compression archive format, just like zip, so you need a program to extract it, like 7zip. The daimod that you need will be inside. The mods on the Nexus will usually be packed into one of three different formats: zip, rar, or 7z. Once you download the mod, unpack it with 7zip and put the daimod in your mod folder that you merge from.
