Green Ghouls

Actually i didn't care about feral ones that much, because you rarely see them close, however when you talk to normal ghouls it is a bit too disgusting.

Now, sure you can't change the model and animations, but maybe someone can draw a better texture and normals that will look less like a zombie and more like a mutant. I tryed to simply change colors in paint, but that dosn't seems to be enough.

OK so that's Harold (tree growing out of his noggin) right? I never played FO1 or two but I recognize the old style ghouls. I'm a little surprised you wouldn't be equally disgusted at them as the vannila FO3 ones. Lets face it neither one of the types are gonna be calvin klein underwear models. Potato patato I guess.

You can change the models, their in the characters/_male folder (they all contain ghoul in the name). I couldn't do a credible job, but plenty of peeps could. However I wouldn't touch the animations since they use the same as all NPCs.

Yep. However to be realistic I don't think your going to find anyone that's willing to create a wholly new and original texture. If you can, awesome, but I think it's very unlikely. What you might get, is someone willing to change the color palette to match the pic above to match old FO1/2 style ghouls. That wouldn't be a lot of work, certainly less than a completely new texture.....since your just messing around with photoshop or gimps color adjustments.

 

But yeah, give it a shot and see if someone is willing to create a new texture for you. If not and you'd be willing to settle for the much more modest goal of just changing the colors, you can always post in the thread and modify your request.

There's a mod for fallout 3 called the "black isle studio" mod, its russian only but out of curiosity i decided to browse through the files and see what was changed, one of them was the ghoul texture. it made them look closer to the original fallout ghouls. i liked it so much that i decided to use it alone in my fallout 3 game. I'd upload it standalone but I'm 99% positive thats against the rules. and i dont know if the creator of the mod is active anymore to ask if i can upload it to the nexus. if you want to download the mod and install it for yourself nobody can stop you. i might upload a screenshot of it if i have one.
