Restoration of Cut Content

To my knowledge, there are currently no full-blown restoration packs being worked on for New Vegas. If there are any, please direct me to them. Note that I'm only referring to content programmed already (ex. Bohr & Koch, House & Brotherhood Alliance, any other possible options initially that were cut).

Typically every Fallout game had about 15% of its content eiter cut or left unfinished, it seems to be tradition nowadays.

However I'd love to see things finished and used. So I'm going to list all the significant cut content I can find out about for the various games and hope for the best.

---------------------------New Vegas Cut Content---------------------------

Cut Quests

The names are basically all thats left of these quests, so modders would have to recreate them according to their own opinions.

  •
  • Chip Provenance: Called 'VChipHistory' internally.
  • Jailhouse Rock: An NCR sidequest involving the unused NPCs Trooper Willis (Cut NPC), MP Fretwell (Cut NPC), and two unnamed NCR Troopers. There are also two blank sidequests immediately following it,
  • Meat of Champions: There is a perk with the same name, achieved by cannibalizing some major NPCs. The quest is unused. There are other perks which function through hidden quests, so it's possible they simply changed the internal mechanisms of the perk. Less likely is that at one point in development, the player character would be assigned the task of cannibalism by another NPC.
  • Viva Las Vegas!: Unused stage of the main quest. There's not enough information to know anything about it. It shares a name with The King's unique clothing, which makes me think it's a vestige of a cut Kings main quest path, but that's just wishful thinking.
  • World Changes Post-Endgame: There is no post-endgame, the game just ends. Also, "Freeside Post-Endgame Content Quest".
  • The Infected Brahmin Meat the player can find in the kitchens of the Ultra-Luxe had an implied use which never made it into the game. Unused pop-up messages exist for poisoning the Legion's stew, but the scripts attached to the message are nonfunctional.

Cut Dialog

Appartently from reading over at the Vault, there are audio files and dialogues for the 3 deadly fiends Violet, Cook-Cook, and Driver Nelphi, but they are unused since the fiends are always hostile. And obviously any cut NPCs and Dialogue involving other cut content may be floating around as well.

Cut Creatures

Feral Ghoul Jumpsuit

Feral ghouls and glowing ones wearing RobCo jumpsuits

Godzilla

Gojira is its editor ID. This is grahpcially identical to the Fire Gecko, but triple the size. Likely a reference to Fallout 2's Godzilla footprint special encounter.

Radioactive Tumbleweed

It's a tumbleweed, except it's green and radioactive

http://tcrf.net/images/thumb/0/0c/FONVRadioactiveTumbleweed.png/128px-FONVRadioactiveTumbleweed.png

Bohr & Koch

Two robots involved with the Vault 22 quest that had unique dialogues.

Floater

A mutated tapeworm enemy enemy from Fallouts 1&2. Appears in name only. (However this has been reborn through mods already.)

While not exactly cut content its more of legacy content from Fallout 3

Failed FEV Subject Tweaked - Modders Resource

Cut Items

Papa Khan Helmet and Armor

http://tcrf.net/images/thumb/4/4d/FONVPapaKhanArmor.jpg/128px-FONVPapaKhanArmor.jpg

Stats of these items are incomplete and the texture of the armor is missing.

Eagle Flag Pole Weapon

http://tcrf.net/images/thumb/4/47/FONVEagleFlagPole.PNG/128px-FONVEagleFlagPole.PNG

Rumored To be a weapon for Ulysses the cut companion. Would've probably been used like the pool cue weapon.

Deathclaw Gauntlet

The armor-piercing homemade claw weapon from Fallout 3 was set to make a return, and with heavily modified stats

Heavy Riveter

A giant nail gun would have been a cool weapon, there is no models or anything for it, and it appears only as a name, still It'd go great with my big daddy outfit from Fallout 3.

L.A.E.R.: Laser-assisted Electric Rifle.

Has a concept art in the collector's edition strategy guide but appears as a name only. Maybe like a more sleek and sniper-ish gause rifle?

Schematics - Mantis Scythe'

Probably referring to the weapon Mantis Gauntlet. It was was quite obviously intended to be craftable, but for some reason they forgot to implement the recipe

Vault 22 Mantis Egg - Meant for a quest.

Thats about it for New Vegas, there is more but it wasn't mentioned due to being cut for good reasons or the likelyhood of it being re-entered into the game like Ulysess.

Here are many creatures from older Fallouts or creatures that were cut and never made it to the final game, so they would all make unique animals to hunt

Giant Catfish (Cut) Fallout 3 Cut Creature

Mutant Wanamingo (Cut) Fallout 3 Cut Creature

Radtoad (Cut) Mentioned in Van Buren

Two-headed Rattlesnake

Hairy Deathclaw From Fallout Tactics (Not lore friendly)

Komodo Dragon From Fallout Tactics

Floater Plant Mutant

Iguana Mentioned in every Fallout but never seen.

Horned Kangaroo Mentioned in Fallouts 1 and 2

Wanamingo Seen in Fallouts 1 and 2

Pig Rats

Mr. Pinch The Giant Ant Mentioned in The story of the Vault 77 from Penny Arcade

Wolves Not yet seen in Either Fallout 3 or New Vegas

Radcats: Essentially "ghouls" of the cat world, these poorly individuals can be found in dark, irradiated areas, wild or accompanying ghouls. Wild radcats will show no desire to get to know the player, and will defend their territory if provoked. Domesticated radcats (as will be found in Underworld) will share similar behaviours with the domestic cat. Whilst still quite weak, these cats will experience a bonus in general ability and healing in the presence of radiation.

Wildcats: Huge, tiger-like beasts in thick, armoured skin; you wouldn't want to piss one off. In combat, effectively a yao guai with armour, these cats will be a force with which to be reckoned. Descended from several species of large jungle cat used in the original experimentation, these cats will exhibit hunting and territorial behaviours. Leave them alone, and they'll do the same for you, but cross them and you've got a fight on your hands. Will be found in packs across the Wasteland.

Poisonclaws: Small, speedy variations of the radcat, these cats will have mutated the ability to produce and use a powerful venom. These cats will be fond of the ambush, and otherwise quite skittish. Whilst they are incredibly weak in terms of HP and DR, these cats will experience similar boosts to the radcat in the presence of radiation, and enhanced healing upon the ingestion of glowing mushrooms. Guess where they'll be found.

Here are some other unused things from Fallout.

Perk photos

http://tcrf.net/images/2/23/FO2-Virgin.png

Virgin of the Wastes

Unused reputation. "You really need to get out more. Your sexual exploits have been... well, two dimensional."

Alcohol Addiction

Childkiller

This image was produced by the guy who drew all the Perk images, but was rejected because, maybe, just maybe, it might have crossed the line a little. The game uses the generic evil karma image instead.

From Fallout 3 some quick things

The atomization death effect from Fallout 3 was never used, it was to go with mini-nukes and radiaition based energy weapons
