deRuyter
My problem is rather "simple" - when I export my weapon model from Blender through nif-tools and subsequently re-import it to blender or open it in Nifskope, there is not my UV-map anymore. In the Nifskope, when I r-click on the object part, choose "Texture" - there is only "Edit UV" option (in correct .nif files, there is another one), and choosing it makes a pop-up window to open with the message "Could not load texture data for UV editor." And as I said - in Blender for the reimported .nif-model I don't find my UV map anymore. I think that some completely other model was working more-or-less properly, but I cannot find any clue from simple comparison. Can anybody help me what to do? I have found something about number of materials - but I am probably lost even there. Detailed description (with some rubbish talking :) ):Well, I started to play with Blender (but just for some fun, I don't have real plan to go for som hard modelling) and subsequently I found out, that it could be a good idea to try to import it into the game ... As a newbie, I didn't know how bad idea it was  I made my model, make UV map, triangulated it (in following order, I just hope, that first UV, then triangulate isn't the source of the troubles) and thenI tryed to follow the tutorial: http://geck.bethsoft.com/index.php/Basic_Guide:_From_Modeling_Program_to_the_GECK Everything looked fine, before I tryed to use GECK - when I tryed to open preview of the model, it crashed. I found something about updating Tangent Space in Nifskope and after using this procedure, I was able to load my model, even to see and use it ingame. Then comes the problem with textures - they just didn't load and after searching for problem I found out, that there is a UV map missing. So I even stopped using my own model and I started playing with TOZ-34 shotgun from STALKER, because it is similar to mine and because it is complete model with textures and normal map. Same problem - I am not able to export .nif file containing UV-map. - I am using the first method of Dealing with NifSkope - exporting .nif file and replacing the parts of the model gun by copy&paste between two NifSkope windows- I tryed the second method with exporting .obj objects, but then I reveret back to moment, when GECK crash when I try to show preview of the model. Even If I try that trick with updating everything in the NiTriStripsData in Nifskope. Btw. .obj keeps the UV map, so I can show it in the Nifskope. But NifSkope to Geck becomes to malfunction Some other things I have already did:-reinstalled Blender, so it is completely in one directory and nothing is in my personal part under Documents and Settings- reinstalled Python, PiFFY and NifScripts - everything should be up-to-date version- I have tryed to use default options for Fallout3 game in the .nif export menu and even some modified options that I found in Google. No help. So once again - I would appreciate any help with any of the methods - either getting UV-map to exported .nif-file or advice, what to check/update/modify, so I can make correct model by using .obj exported models. I am going throug forums, google etc., but unforntunatelly, there is usualy no answer clearly leading to this problem.
mrlosesafer
When you import you nif. note the texture directory.Blender has a default path that can be chaged, if your texture is not in that directory then the texture will not show.
