steeman
I'm in the Malintus Ancrus house after getting a message to meet the Gray Fox there. But he seems to be invisible. I do notice the green marker, so he should be in the same area. Am I missing something? If you can give me a hint I'd be much obliged.
Abramul
Have yoy tried a Detect Life spell? (I doubt that he's supposed to be invisible, but if it's due to a spell, this will work.)

No sign of the guy, only a from left to right moving green marker.Think it's bugged. Thanks for your help

Oruboris
I hope the OP just needs to fence more stuff, but I had a similar problem with a dissappearing orc butler that I never could resolve. I did have a lot of fun on the arrow quest, though. If you kill the giant slaughterfish, he sometimes has a cool chameleon robe. And since I wasn't sure there was a way to get back in the mage's good graces, I found a way of getting the Baddie's key without killing him: Run around the tower to get all the critters chasing you, then head for the top floor, jump accross the gap. Pick 'em off with the cool staves you get from the conjurers in the dungeons. The Baddy won't come upstairs, but if you stand in the right spot, he'll stand on the level below [conveniently near the edge] firing spells etc. The trick is to lower his health by whatever means to *just* the right level, then summon a zombie or other helper that gives a good push when it attacks. Since you are on a narrow ledge, the summoned beast will fall to teh same level as Baddie and shove him off the edge. Ideally, he survives the attack, but dies from the fall, so you aren't to blame. You get all his loot, and the mages aren't upset with you.

If he hasn't dissapered, you'll find him dead under the bridge.
Oruboris
No, but close: it was a get-the-book quest for thief's guild. Apparently, you are supposed to get a job with the castle guard in order to rescue the guy with the book. I found a way around that... I never did find the orc's body, was going to try to resurect him [what is the code for that, anyway?]. I recently learned that there's a flaw in the bridge itself, though: I was on another get-the-book [this time for the mages: count of Skingard must run up some hella library fines!], and every time I walked accross the bridge an invisible guy says 'Hello'! Finally noticed the tip of a bow sticking up through the stone like a snorkle: the guard had fallen inside. I waas able to start a conversation with him, and next time, he was back where he belonged. I may try the 'buy a house' to put a marker on the orc, see if I can find a spot in the bridge where his dialog activates...
Ginji
...try to resurect him [what is the code for that, anyway?].just click on him and type 'resurrect' without the quotes. ;) About the Ork butler, he actully just walks over the edge. Which is why I now refer to him as 'Suicide Ork'.
Oruboris
Heh... 'Oricide'! I was spelling it 'resurect'-- no wonder it didn't work...
PaulEmil
Whenever I got the AoE, I've always been Archmage, which makes Fathis a member of MY guild, and I can just take the arrow, without kicking up an awful fuss.(50th post!)
