futurec0rpse
Hello. I've tried to play skyrim on my windows 10 machine for two Days. I have installed skse, drivers, even old versions of DirectX and nothing works. if i play without skse, it crashes after the dragon loading screen, if i use skse, it crashes on the first cutscene when the "look around with your mouse" prompt appears. I have tried different settings, compatibility modes etc etc and nothing works. I even installed windows 10 from scratch, redownloaded from steam but to no avail. Anyone have any idea of what is going on? I dont have any mods at the moment, Clean computer with nothing but drivers, windows 10 and skyrim on steam. Thanks. Purr4me
where did you install the steam folders that contain the games data?you ...can ...not ..install any thing in windows 10 into a UAC controlled folder...default game installations will not work on 10 any more. why? security has been beefed up way to high, your going to loose data if stored C:\Program Files And Folders9x86)\ any thing....period. D:\ E:\ any drive other than there. No C:\ at all....C:\ is the root... it's up to you. but..now if you say it's installed else where? we need system specs, hardware specs to determine why it won't run. each person complains, we need to look at those things to determine what wiil or will not work. without this kind of information, we all are the Blind leading the blind....Big Giant brick walls. mountainmax
I'm having a different problem, but guessing it might be the same solution? I've had 10 for a couple of weeks or so, and have had no issues with the game or mods until yesterday. My game still runs just fine with all the active mods, but I can no longer open up the mod manager to add or delete any mods. ??? Thanks
Purr4me
I have 10 loaded on an off line machine...tests conducted so far, the event log's built up show that some data "metadata" is failing to upload ...because I have it disconnected from the net. inside these "files" and there are tons of them....are snap shots of all the things i used, over and over again. bellow in there are system logs...in there it shows software being deleted for various compatibility reasons...too dam many to list here. To not allow a program and why...? well it's because now, all programs calling for " IE" are being disqualified...why...because the installer will only allow "edge" not (IE) and these programs used data for IE. that's the issue...as it scans and opens files in the background services, it quietly removes these files no longer valid..and they are for all intents and purposes INVALID because there is NO ( IE ) Internet Explorer left to use....AKA missing data. So, I am conducting imaging tests to see if I can force an issue.I need to use a product to "mount my images with" in 64bit formats that are built in 32bit formats....and windows 10 64 will not allow this. Some things yes, if those things are NOT dependent on IE, those that are, never get a chance to period. kind of silly really...but i see the media formats also changed...calls up the edge browser.I think there's a bit of time here we can sit back and just wait. I have made a lot of progress with important software i need to use, but games stuff ? it's gonna take a back seat for now.when I find the "APP"S key...it's Achilles heel, so i can put a plug in it ,I'll post about it .FOR now ,me ..personally am treating it as a Viral thing against the old software builds. It works really slow unless acted on.
CHVNGE
Okay, I am running Window 10 and I recently installed SKSE through Steam and Skyrim launched just fine.I download and install NMM to my C:\Games folder and the not C:\Program files like I was prompted to do.I download a mod through NMM then activate the mod and launch the game but I get a Skyrim launcher failed message.I try launching through Steam with the same error.I validate the integrity of Skyrim's files and I get 1 file missing but even if I validate again instantly after I get the 1 file missing message Steam does not add that 1 missing file. Also the mod I downloaded has disappeared from my NMM.[EDIT] The Mod I downloaded has not disappeared it was in a different category. Purr4me
Give them and the teams time. Things are being re-written, they have too in order to survive, it just takes time.
Snakesarecool
My game is also crashing on win 10, but this only started happening when I update my NMM from 61.4 to 61.5, and it only crashes when I load my save file.
