rouwehand
Okay so i recently downloaded and installed the colourwheel sexy oblivion overhaul for my game. I really like it and all but the the armor and clothing remeshing or what ever it's called overwrites another, remeshing mod i use and i'll try to detail how it does now. Current armor re meshing mod adds highlights to the "map" of the clothing/armor in the game andgives them a pretty damned awesome glowing effect, CollourWheel's overhaul Shortens all skirtsto half a butt cheek size and somehow disables the glowy effect of the other mod, Now being a person who likes to have things at least look practical within the limits of the games lorei have been trying to find a workaround to remove the stock clothing retexture but with no luck. After searching through the files which ColourWheel has uploaded i have found that all the mods includedincluded in the overhaul have been uploaded to his/her account except for the custom races included in theoverhaul pack. So my question is, how would i go about extracting the custom races (specifically the Khajiit)from the esp so that i can install all the mods seperately but without the itty bitty micro mini skirts? So far i have tried installing the remesh packs from colourwheels profile seperately and deactiveateingtheir esp files, i have also tried installing the overhaul and then overwiteing the mod files with stock butthis hasn't worked either. Normaly i turn all my mods into omod format and manage like that howeverwith this 've tried esp juggleing and file overwrites to change it but no luck. Any help you could give me will be greatly appreciated even if it's a link to the races because i missed them.(as a side note ColourWheel has somehow set the races added to the game as default races for npc charactersand i was hopeing to keep this setting because i much prefer the custom races) Also sorry for being so long winded/unclear i'm just trying to give as much info as possible. Eiries
I think all you'll really have to do is delete all the armor meshes (and possibly textures.) Assuming she didn't change the directories, it should be in the meshes/armor directory. So, extract it to your desktop or something, go into the freshly made meshes and textures folder and delete all the folders within the armor directory. Now recompress all the files and extract to you game's directory like normal. Edited March 18, 2011 by Eiries
David Brasher
It kind of depends on if the texture replacement is esp-dependent or not. It sort of sound like it is. If it is a replacement which is not .esp dependent, then you can just change or delete the mesh in question in your Oblivion\Data\Meshes folder. But if it is .esp dependent such that the .esp tells the game to use a certain mesh in a certain circumstance (unlike the espless variation where the mesh is always used unless told otherwise because it is the default) then you have a harder task. If load order and the other things you have tried have not worked, then the best solution would be to go into the CS and mod your copy of the mod. You can go in and delete anything you don't like such as a certain outfit or certain race. Then when you run the mod, nothing will be changed in that department by the mod you just edited and the mods you like better will change those aspects of the game. Thanks Eiries it worked a treat, all i had to do was extract the rar file (normally i just make it into an omod from rar archive) and delete the two folders for the stock replacements (though i left a few of the more practical ones in there). I don't know why i didn't think of it in the first place guess i was just showing my nubness with modding. @David Brasher:From what you've said i only really gleaned that some esp files will tell the game to use specific meshes and textures for specific npc's drops ect? If thats what you meant then i dont think that it's been done in this case though i might run into it later and then probably come a running back for more help. Other then that thanks for your input on this and i look forward to trying a few of your mods a bit later (i had a quick brows through to get an idea of what you make). If you feel i've interpreted what you've said wrongly feel free to tell me i'd appreciate the clarification as it may help me in the future.
