Hi. I have recently been getting wierd flashes of light, while playing Oblivion. I am running 6.12 drivers with ATI Tool tray. I rolled back from 7.1. uninstalling, then manually deleting all system 32 'ati files' and sys 32 driver 'ati' files. I play @ 1024*768 HDR+4AA, 4AF and nearly max settings. I get great FPS and very little stutter (Raptor HD, 2GIG, G-skill ZX). no GPU overclock. CPU is overclocked. A64 venice 3200+ @ 2.4Ghz (20% OC). I've tried disabling HDR then re-enabling, but it is still happening. GFX card is NOT overheating. I think there are still remnants of the 7.1's floating about...... cus i was playing it last week (before formatting) with 6.12 and i didn't see any glitches!

ANY help would be aprieciated! Thanks, Wombat.

Disable the overclocking.

O.K. @ default 2.0Ghz, still no GFX oc. still gettin it.... I'm sure it has something to do with the 7.1 drivers. cus last week whilst playing (6.12 drivers* didn't even know 7.1's were out) it wasn't happening.

only the last couple o days, after playing with 7.1's. My overclock has allways been Prime stable. Primed for 24 hour and longer... could be ATI catalyst A.I, as i have to set it to low, to enable HDR+AA. GFX card never oc'ed, lol as if i need to OC ma 1900xt..... it flies.

Thanks for the advice tho mate :D

You might try this driver. First, though, I'd suggest seeing if disabling grass shadows has any effect. If it causes problems with one driver, it could well do the same with others.

K, I've noticed that with forced HDR+AA, I get the corruption. You think it might be Catalyst A.I. (need it on low, for HDR+AA to work) causing probs?

Also I've tried 6.9 and 6.10 also, with the same glitches. Using 6.12's now. Again.

Cheers for your help,

Wombatfrog.
