snacktothefuture
...Snacktothefuture! And that's maybe all you need to know? I've been trying my hand at modding the past few months, in an incredible dynamic duo with my dude (who doesn't obsess over it like I do...) and we eventually manage to figure things out. Eventually I'll have these mods out for Skyrim, let me know if you'd like to have anything to do with them! I'll probably also end up posting a few cries for help in the near future, since most of my projects are a little too ambitious for my current level. (here's a list since I didn't realize there were so many before I wrote them)Scavenger SmithingThe Overhaul of Doom (weapons & armor)ShackAttackCity OverhaulsCampsitesSteeds of SkyrimFollowers OverhaulJewelry Overhaul (cooler than it sounds)Skill trees/magic overhaul Anyway, there's going to be one that lets you craft a whole bunch of items that you can't in Vanilla (like Imperial Bows, for instance) and also lets you smelt down pretty much anything made of metal. It's called Scavenger Smithing, for lack of a better name. You can also craft circlets. Another one kind of goes with it; I call her The Overhaul of Doom. TOOD adds descriptions to weapons, armor, clothing, jewelry, and other random shiz that I feel like describing. Here's a sample: Fur Bracers - Wearing these mittens feels like you're fondling a young Khajiit maiden. That one also adds a whole bunch of vanilla-based weapons and armor (like Imperial Legate Bow, for instance) and overhauls the base stats of pretty much all the weapons and armor to be a tad more realistic. Not super realistic. A tad. And there's ShackAttack, which upgrades the shacks of Skyrim and adds some new ones. Most have safe storage and the uninhabited ones are neutrally-owned. Separately, I'd like to see if I can find a way to make items have no owner when theirs dies.It also may or may not be in this mod, but I'm going to revamp the little settlements scattered around and add more. I've got some city overhauls in progress, particularly Whiterun. It'll be a little fudgy with the Civil War quest until I get all those stupid linked references in, but that depressing husk of a city really needs a revamp if it's to live up to it's "merchant capitol" reputation. A little side project (mostly for my own playing fun) is a camp overhaul mod. Not like Frostfall, but it'll be useful combined with it. I'm just making the various spatterings of camps in Skyrim more habitable by the Dovahkiin during his or her travels and (once again) adding some new ones in cool places. Uh, there's Steeds of Skyrim, also for lack of a better name. Making horses a little more interesting. I'm going to try to make them into pack mules, like with a follower inventory, and perhaps even give them a "follow me" command like dogs. A temporary fix is my darling Nuinhir, a tiny black horse with 1.75x speed and awesome stamina who is programmed to follow the player at the comfortable distance of 1000 units. Other people don't like her, though. My one friend killed her. But Steeds of Skyrim will be better! There will be horses of various sizes (and shapes, when I get meshes and textures down), whose size determines carry weight and speed. Perhaps there will even be donkeys, if I get really ambitious. And mules. I'm also trying to re-do the followers a tiny bit, like changing level caps. I'd like to add a few new ones, too, since that's a thing. Make some people marriageable. Etc. Then there's a Jewelry Overhaul. It'll add jewelry made of all sorts of metals, from Iron and Orichalcum to Quicksilver and Moonstone. If you've got the DLC's you can have stalhrim stuff. And they can have WHICHEVER gems, not how in Vanilla you can have a silver sapphire necklace but no silver sapphire ring. 'Tis lame. Anyway, the really fun part. Much like the weird Silver Sword power, I'm going to try to make the metals and gems have an "enchantment," but not really an enchantment. I haven't figured it all out, but ihere's the ones I have:Gold - speechcraftQuicksilver - speedEbony - stealthSteel - unarmed damage (or perhaps all-around damage?)Orichalcum - smithingThen the gems, which have varying power based on the kind of gem used:Sapphire: magicka regen + some magickaRuby: health regen + some healthEmerald: stamina regen + some staminaDiamond: +dmg resistance, +physical dmg outputAmethyst: +magic resistance, +magic dmg output(don't know about Garnets)And I want to add Onyx gems, since you can have a Copper Onyx circlet but there aren't any onyx gems. But anyway, Regular gems will boost all those by 3 (3%, +3), while Flawless gems will boost them by 5. There will be a perk that doubles the effect of jewelry, too! Also, a skill trees overhaul. That's on the back-burner. Also, a magic overhaul. I want to add a Blindness spell! I tried before, but it was hard to tell if it worked...It'll add a whole bunch of new familiars! And a spell that does the command animal thing. Perhaps even a high-level illusion spell that commands PEOPLE. And there should be a sleep spell. And a sort of "curse" that continually drains their stuff. Kind of like that shout. And a fus-ro-dah spell. Alteration needs it for awesomeness. Anyway, there's my mods, have at any of my ideas if you think you can finish before I do. I just want to play with them :
