Povuholo
Some more information would be useful. What kind of mods did you download? What doesn't 'work'? Isn't anything appearing in the game, are textures black or purple, or are there big yellow exlamation marks? Did you follow the instructions in the readme that came with the download? And this is in the wrong section, it should be at modifications :) But don't repost the question, a moderator will probably move this thread there. Guest Tessera
The sad and short answer... even if you're having some other problems... is that about 90% of the mods created for Oblivion these days are poorly-written and incompatible with one another. Blame Bethesda, for making this game so easy to modify. And blame the modders, for not agreeing upon any standards.

They just don't show up in the data files check list
Povuholo
I did follow the read-me. They just don't show up in the data files check listHow did you extract the files? Did you say 'yes' when it asked to overwrite? Are you SURE you did exactly what the readme says? That they don't show up at the data files means you didn't. The .esp file should be in the oblivion/data folder. Also take a look at the How to install Plugins/mods thread.
elpiggo
If you have extracted them, it is possible that they are in a folder, and you will need to move the .esp file out of the folder and into the data files folder, or the launcher will not recognise the mod.
