How to see everything in GECK

I have started having the same problem more or less. Old work that I have done shows fine, but if I change a single texture the entire composition goes crazy as though the GECK can't find the textures.

I have Windows 7, 64bit, and I think this occurred recently after an update to Service Pack 1, or an update by Steam.

I use lots of textures and since they now all look alike in GECK it is driving me nuts. Trying to place a sofa against a floor that all have the same texture as the door or a wall is frustrating.

I've tried everything including re-install the entire lot including the game and the GECK.

Hope someone can figure this out.

Incidentally, in game what I get placed looks fine.

I have W7 too.

Maybe its where the problem is.

Thanks Dalex, but I've had Win 7 for some time, and everything was working just fine.

I'm now reinstalling all the drivers for things like video and audio in case something was corrupted some where. If I find a solution I will post it here.

EDIT

Either no one else is experiencing this or no solution has presented. It is most frustrating.

OK, I'm slow but I eventually get there.

My problem came from having the nVidia tool set to NOT make mip maps. I usually keep it checked to make all mipmaps. I have no clue how that happened.

If you make textures be sure to check the box for making mipmaps and set it to at least ten...and just leave it there, it requires no further attention.

I hope this is the solution for your problem as well.

I too have Win7 and it works fine. I had problems with multiboundsat the beginning and made the mistake and edited the ini file while GECK was running... the file gets overwritten every time you close GECK (so my change was never persistent).
