devinpatterson
Hi. I carved out this valley in the northwest of the Mojave. It looks great when I'm in geck but when I go in game there are these weird stretched texture effects about where the cell boarders are. Is this an LOD problem or ??? I'v got some pics of it. It still shows the top surface as it was before I edited the landscape but you fall right through to the valley below. Although the top surface is still visible from the valley floor. http://img34.imageshack.us/i/screenshot208e.jpg/http://img813.imageshack.us/i/screenshot207.jpg/http://img600.imageshack.us/i/screenshot206.jpg/
davidlallen
I have never seen that kind of white cliff. It does not look like "just" an LOD problem. Is it possible that the heightmap of one grid, is not continuous to the heightmap of the adjacent grid? If the cliff lines are exactly along the grid borders, then this seems highly likely. I think in general, there is no hope of making large scale landscape changes in the main worldspace. I have never seen anybody reporting success with this, and many many people reporting failure. Can you use a separate worldspace for this terrain? Edited March 22, 2011 by davidlallen

But alas, no luck :( But I appreciate you letting me know about the lack of success on large landscape changes in hte wasteland, at least this way I don't waste any more time banging my head against that wall Edited March 22, 2011 by devinpatterson
