RubberScrubberDucky
What's the point?I've noticed that a lot of mods released for New Vegas, especially quest mods, with lines upon lines upon lines of dialog, are often lacking in decent grammar and punctuation, have the odd misspelling and often don't come off as the author intended. This could be for many reasons: because the creator of the mod is one of the Nexus's many international users who doesn't speak English primarily, because the author's talents lie in areas other than grammar and spelling, or because it simply isn't a big issue for the modder or target audience. While I'm sure that there are many people who are only mildly bothered or could honestly care less about this, there are also many more who find a lack of legibility to be immersion-breaking or even ruin the experience of the mod altogether. I know this has been my experience on more than a few occasions. I was feeling productive today, and wanted to use that to help benefit one of my favorite communities: the Nexus, in fixing one of the most noticeable problems I've seen in my time here. What I am offering to you:I'm offering my services to you, the modder, to help correct any grammar or spelling issues in your mod, format descriptions better, or optimize dialogue and conversations. Or some combination of the three. This isn't intended to be purely aimed at mods in progress that are yet to be released, and I would be happy to help out with mods that are already out. In addition, from small mods that make minor changes to large quest mods and total overhauls, I would be willing to take a crack at and see what I could do for any size mod. This is my first time at attempting anything like this, so I probably won't be as efficient as I could be the first few times. I'll probably have some questions and would appreciate it greatly if whoever I'm working for could field them, but other than that, the process should go very smoothly. Final notes.I'm not perfect, but I'm good with words and grammar. There might be a few mistakes left over after I'm done, but it's my goal to have a net improvement with whatever I'm asked to work with. Anything involving the GECK would most likely be new to me, and I'll be a little clumsy at first, but that can be easily fixed. Otherwise, if there's anything else you need to know or if you're interested in trying my service out, let me know either in a PM or on this topic. Thanks for reading, everyone! cambragol
Sounds like a generous offer. Could be well used by a few mods out there. I would take advantage of it if I had any dialogue in my current mod, which I do not as of yet.
viking99
Language and dialogue feedback is always helpfull. I am working with a hunting mod and hope to be ready for alphatesting in about two weeks. I would say my english is pretty decent but since it is not my first language there is always the possibility of mistakes. I'll send you a link when alphatesting is up.
