There are no resolutions.

So I installed New Vegas onto this computer I'm using. I don't have a lot of info on it because it's new and I know nothing about computers, but I can tell you it uses some sort of Intel Core Duo processor and that when I checked Windows claimed the drivers were all up-to-date. Windows 7, that is.

I installed it, and during install I had brief moments where my computer had a seizure. Warning lights already. When I tried to start up the game, the first time the game launcher tried to check my computer's hardware settings, the launcher crashed. I tried again and things looked better. I went into Options in the launcher and everything looked fine, save for one odd thing:

There is no resolution in the resolution box. The drop-down list is also blank.

When I tried to hit Play, the game wouldn't start. A small black box appeared in the corner of my screen (like it does during a CTD) and a warning box popped up:

Failed to initialize render. Your display doesn't support the selected resolution.

...Brilliant. Naturally, my display doesn't support the resolution, which at the time is marked as "big white blank space." I try again, this time in windowed mode.

Failed to initialize renderer. Windowed mode not supported on this Adapter.

...Of course not.

So I looked it up and found a similar problem on Google, to begin troubleshooting. From there, I checked all my drivers, and Windows claims they're updated. I tried running in Windows XP compatibility mode. I went into FalloutPrefs.ini and set my own resolution under the iSize tags. Nothing works.

Doing this can save a lot of back and forth.

Using the computer you plan to play the game on

Go here to see if your computer can run the game

http://www.systemreq...tslab.com/cyri/

You will find the various game we support

Oblivion listed as 'The Elder Scrolls IV, Oblivion

Fallout3 as Fallout3 PC

Dragon Age listed as Dragon age

Fallout New Vegas as Fallout: New Vegas

Morrowind is not listed, However if you can run Oblivion at all it should run well on your system.

Note: TES V - Skyrim is not listed yet as no one knows what the final requirements will be yet.

...Well the diabolical Windows Update Fairy visited me last night and, somehow, now all the problems are gone.

Unfortunately, it turns out my video card isn't good enough, so now when I run the game it runs at a snail's pace.

Guess I'll just have to wait until my good computer works again... Thanks for the help anyway.
