Mods do Not appear in Load Order

Recommended Posts

This is for Fallout 3 goty

Going a little crazy. Trying to get mods to work. Used boss, used the activation reactivation thing or whatever it is, using the FOMM, even created a merged patch.

I have tried many different mods by now, and my problem isn't that I cant install them or cant activate them, my problem is that they are not appearing in the load order at all.

I have the merged patch one, I have the original fallout, and all the official dlc, what I do not have is ANY of the mods I have installed showing up. I can activate them via package manager, but they still don't show up in the load order after that has done. I've gone through every mod install walkthrough, the official steam one, the nexus one, even some bloody youtube ones. And none of them have helped. :(

Hi!

First, you're in the wrong subforum. This subforum is for people having problems with their computer for games not supported by a download nexus. For future reference the easiest way to find the subforum related to the game you're having issues with is to go to that game's download nexus and click forums from the upper right hand side of the page - that will take you directly to the proper subforum.

Second, thanks for mentioning the game you're having problems with since you're in the wrong place it makes it easier to help. However I'm not sure what you mean by load order. The phrase: "mod's not showing up in my load order" is a little like saying "my groceries are not showing up in my list. Which also explains your inability to find something that fixes your problem, you had the wrong search terms. " So I'm going to focus on the part that makes sense "mods not showing up."

This is a common problem for users with an OS from Vista up to Win8 (it has not yet been confirmed an issue with 10 but it probably is) where a user installs a modifiable game to the default C:Program Files location. Files will blink in and out of existence when installed to this location as if it were the Bermuda triangle. It is advised never to install any modifiable games there as the constant moving and swapping increases your chances of mysterious disappearances. To fix the issue you need to move your install of Fo3 or steam to a different folder, most users create a C;Games folder instead.

Good luck.
