Saamun
Good day to thee [forum member's name], I'm Saamun, fell free to find any variation of that spelling that suits your fancy as everyone else does. =_=" I'm very new to modding, I basically only encountered it a year or 2 ago when I found an extensive modding community for KoTOR 2. The website I discovered brought me huge amounts of joy as I explored the modified goodness in a fashion much like a child explores the contents of a candy wrapper, with relish and often or not squealing with happiness. I quickly acquired in excess of 30 mods, installed them all carefully and have been playing the game in it's modified state ever since. It has resulted in a much greater re-playability that the original game had. Recently it began to nag at me that I had gotten so much enjoyment out of other people's efforts and yet given nothing back to the community, however modding for KoTOR seemed daunting to me so I sort of let it slide. 'Bastard!' you yell and indeed I felt like a bastard every time I downloaded a mod after that. Moving on I finally got my hands on Oblivion a couple months back, a game which my closest friend constantly ranted and raved about. I played it and was instantly addicted in a way which very few games managed to achieve (WoW disappointed me immensely after all the hype and I generally juggle life and several books and games at the same time with ease.), for a couple of weeks it was the only game I played. I think the thing that got me was the massive beautiful world which I could easily explore and relax in whilst still getting the pleasure of slaughtering enemies in a variety of ways among other traditional gaming experiences. I very soon was looking up things on the unofficial oblivion wiki and through that I found the modding community. I am still in my first play through however I couldn't help but look into it and I was awed at the wonderful things people created. I took an apprehensive peek at the construction set one day and was immensely surprised when I discovered how simple and easy it was (especially thanks to a tutorial on the CS wiki.). So for the past month now I have been playing the game whilst simultaneously altering small things, mainly placing little camps and houses in places I found the most pretty, varying between river banks, valleys and hilltops. Finally I have joined this community, striding in with my chest thrust out heroically, a breeze fluttering my cape as I seek to present my mods which I am oh so proud of. I am sure that my cape shall soon lose it's breeze and my heroic feeling shall be stripped away upon discovering that the work I was oh so proud of was quickly analyzed and summarized as utter rubbish by some bastard on the other side of the world, living in his basement whilst trying to keep his glasses from slipping off (no offense meant to genuine mother's-basement dwellers). All extravagance aside I look forward to making use of your work while hopefully contributing something to this forum that at least one person gets genuine joy out of. TL;DR: Yo bitches, I leik games, I stealz your hard work for freez and give you s*** all back then try to give something back so come here and fail like nublet. K thx bai. ;) Edited March 27, 2011 by Saamun
