toxicToxophilite
Hello, I've installed KATS and the required mods for it, but the legs are not working at all for me, they are still the normal plantigrade shape.
DrakeTheDragon
Did you also do what the install instructions tell you and use True Body Shapes' ingame config menu to configure your Khajiit to use the special foldername (keyword) "khajiit"? True Body Shapes needs to be setup once ingame before it will have any effect on any of your races. Fortunately the settings you make will be stored inside your next save game once done the first time.
toxicToxophilite
Is there a way to reset the config menu?
DrakeTheDragon
According to True Body Shapes' readme there is: Part 3: Configure settings: When you first start up True Body Shapes a configuration menu will pop up. To activate the configuration menu later click on the true body shapes item in your miscellaneous inventory.
toxicToxophilite
As soon as I figure out how I destroyed this body texture, I'll try that, thank you. Edit: I don't know how I broke it, but I did. I was using Slof's tabby-pointed siamese texture, but I decided I would of rather had the fullbody tabby texture. When I tried to change them, the body texture became torqued, and now only the head and tail are properly working. In the meantime, I'll get on those legs. toxicToxophilite
Okay but when it wants me to put in the script name or whatever, it doesn't do anything? I think I don't know what I'm doing.
toxicToxophilite
hello?
DrakeTheDragon
Sorry for getting back at you only that late. I was rather busy with my job and was forced to stay off the forums for some days. I was hoping someone else would chime in in the mean time, but I guess that didn't happen. Alright, I agree the documentation of KATS is rather scarce and severely lacking in the important departments. So let's go through this step-by-step: - Player Body Type> Use hair> sets whether or not the player will use a special hair mesh> Set Body Type> Body type string> Type in your desired body type. When you are finished hit the finished button. Do not hid enter. Be sure to spell thing correctly!> Use default>Generates a body type based on your strength and race> Use default + body type string> As use default but also includes a body type stringI highlighted the relevant parts. Now, what KATS' install instructions are trying to tell you is: 1) Go into this config menu from True Body Shapes, go to the section "Player Body Type", then to "Set Body Type" and then "Body type string".2) There you enter the keyword as told "khajiit", just exactly like the addendum that's at the end of the "clothesXXX" and "armorXXX" folders coming from KATS, and make sure to press the finished button.3) Like it warns you above, do "not" hit enter! (I actually don't know why that is, but if it tells you to, it's better to listen to it and just do exactly as told.) If then all folders from KATS were put into your game correctly,if your OS' security measures won't interfere with their use, or your install thereof, like your game is inside the program files folder and later Windows versions' UAC will not allow you to put any mod files into there but "silently" put them into a VirtualStore folder inside your user folders instead, all the while your Windows Explorer still making it seem "as if" they were exactly where you put them, practically "lying" to you but the game won't be fooled by it and can't find the files where they are now,you entered the keyname correctly as told and where you were told to put it into, then KATS digitigrade feet and legs models should be used instead of the game's original plantigrade ones. In cases you might need to first unequip or equip a foot or legs clothing or armor item, make yourself naked (your player character, of course), or anything else changing the affected body slots' contents. But basically, that's it already. Of course, using other scripted body type control mods, like for example Oblivion Character Overhaul's Blockhead OBSE plugin, will make it possible for these to conflict with True Body Shapes. I recently found out the hard way that True Body Shapes can effectively "block" most of Blockhead's functionalities with ease and without even telling. In other words, I couldn't get Blockhead to do any custom race-based body shapes I was playing around with while at the same time True Body Shapes was still running and giving all races the regular human shaped "BodySuit" instead all the time. Took me quite a while to figure that not-so-obvious conflict out and turn TBS off to get my changes to magically apply! So look out for conflicts such as this! They can be hidden, but they'll cause unexplainable migraine until you nailed them!
