Hello guys! I need help with my mods. My Skyrim sometimes crashes and I don't know which of my mod/s causes it.

My Skyrim mostly crashes when my character is in Whiterun.
Already tried making new character, restarting the game, etc., still CTDs.

I also have CTD and Memory Patch ENBoost and Skyrim Crash Compendium Mod

Also, any suggested balanced weapon/armor mods that is distributed to NPCs or can only get by doing some quest?

Okay... first things first... I'm going to assume you've checked all the mods' pages and made sure all these are compatible with each other/have compatibility patches for the ones that aren't, at least the ones that the community knows of. If not, do that first.

 

Another thing to make sure of is that your computer can handle this load order. What are your computer's specs? I'll tell you right now that if it's a laptop/an ancient dinosaur desktop, you're probably gonna have to drop some of these mods...

 

Now... have you used LOOT on this? Do that if you haven't. Use TES5Edit to check for compatibility, and make a smashed patch with Mator Smash. Then use TES5Edit to manually change the records that are still not correct even with the smashed patch. MAKE SURE you backup your files before doing this (there is a chance of your edits breaking something, but then again, there always is with this kind of stuff).

 

I would also reduce the plugin count by merging some of these mods with the Merge Plugin Script (for TES5Edit). Something to note though- keep backup copies of Mator Smash and Merge Plugin's MTEFunctions.pas because as of now one will overwrite the other and give you errors when you try and use the overwritten script. Also, be aware that some mods don't like being merged, so be careful with what you merge (don't forget to backup the mods you want to merge). And PLEASE READ THE DOCUMENTATION for these things before you use them if you don't already know how to use them because you WILL break something/make stupid errors if you don't.

 

Finally, remember that Skyrim crashes occasionally for pretty much everyone. Unless it's really prevalent or there's a pattern to the crashes (eg. it crashes when I do X), then I wouldn't worry about it too much.
